Tapping into the rising trend of flexitarianism, Grill’d Meat Free Monday initiative coincides with the recent launch of four new plant-based menu items made using the iconic Beyond Burger meat alternative.
Beyond Burgers are pretty close to the real thing—they even 'bleed' when you cut them open, due to the beetroot in them. And if you're worried about missing out on your protein hit, you'll be pleased to know they have just as much protein as a regular burger pattie, contain more iron and they have less saturated fat and cholesterol. Plus, they’re tasty as hell, so what’s not to love?
Since it's been obviously bitten by the sustainability bug, Grill’d also have plans to make 50 per cent of its menu plant-based by 2020, which is good news for the planet and good news for our stomachs.
