Melburnians have a ton of options available close by when it comes to fermented grapes—the Yarra Valley, Red Hill, even the Barossa is fairly accessible. But there’s one Australian wine region that has taken a little more effort to access. That will change starting 25 March 2020.
A planned $60M expansion of the Busselton-Margaret River Regional Airport in WA will see flights heading directly from Melbourne with Jetstar taking up the route.
Busselton is a 45-minute drive to Margaret River which sure beats the currently available 3-hour journey south from Perth following a tough 5-hour flight. Jetstar will operate the service three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, landing at Busselton Margaret River Airport at 9.05 am and departing at 9.40 am.
The move also sees the opportunity for flights from Sydney, and even Singapore in the near future.
