This March, Bank of Melbourne celebrates its partnership with Melbourne Food and Wine Festival by hitting the road with Melbourne’s most democratic food truck—and serving seven of the best home-cooked dishes in the state, brought to life by Tommy Collins. These are seven dishes you won’t want to miss—because they were chosen as the best in Victoria by chef and restaurateur Guy Grossi and Herald Sun food editor Dan Stock.
Gotta love that...
So who are these home cooks that will have their dish showcased during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival on their allocated day? Well, they are the seven winners of the recent Bank of Melbourne #socialfeeds competition, which called out for Victoria’s best undiscovered culinary talent—and these seven will join 33 others in this year’s edition of their famous crowdsourced cookbook.
This month you can try the seven mini-dishes that were deemed the best of home cooking in Victoria, for nada—just pull up a beanbag or lounge chair, chill out to some music, and give the featured dish of the day a try.
However, if you want to try all seven you’ll have to follow the food truck as it makes its rounds of Melbourne this March. Here are all the details—get in nice and early, so you don’t miss out!
- Wednesday 24 February: Queensbridge Square, 11am to 3pm
- Saturday 5 March: Queensbridge Square, noon to 4pm
- Sunday 6 March: Queensbridge Square, noon to 4pm
- Tuesday 8 March: Ballarat on Armstrong Street Mall, outside Bank of Melbourne Branch 11am to 3pm
- Thursday 10 March: Southern Cross Station, 4pm to 7pm
- Friday 11 March: St Kilda Beach, grass oval next to Sea Baths, 2pm to 6pm
- Saturday 12 March: Flemington Grazing Trail and Cellar Door, Flemington Racecourse, 11am to 4pm
Melbourne foodies assemble! It’s time to try the dishes of your fellow Victorians... And Instagram away to your heart’s content.
The seven recipes selected by Guy Grossi and Dan Stock will be cooked and served out of the Bank Of Melbourne #socialfeeds food truck at various locations around Melbourne during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (4—13 March 2016) for FREE.
