Deep breaths everyone, October is on our doorsteps and there is heaps to do if you’re keen for a good time.

While you’re traversing the city hopping from social activity to social activity with the girls, you’re going to want to keep fresh, which is where NIVEA's new Urban Skin range comes in. The perfect sidekick to busy days battling UV rays and the city’s pollution, the Urban Skin range is packed with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and bio green tea extract—aka everything you need to face the city, fearlessly.

Get ready for 31 days of fast-paced fun, as well as some much needed pampering, because why the hell not?!

Scare Yourself Silly

Sometimes Halloween can be a bit of a let down here in Oz, we just can’t seem to nail it like the Americans do, so we were pretty thrilled when we found out that a haunted house Halloween festival is coming to Melbourne. Hauntville will be bringing three heart-pounding Haunted House attractions to Melbourne from 19 to 28 October and to be honest, they look super scary. Get your friends on board and get ready to torture yourself silly.

Get Among The Sex And The City Vibes

Sorry, no time to chat—a rooftop pool club is coming to Melbourne. It’s called Reunion Island Pool Club and it’s Australia’s first EVER rooftop pool, bar and leisure venue (Melbs leading the way as per!) Gracing our city in October, you’ll definitely want to book in to what will be the hottest place to be this spring and summer.

Witness The Botanical Gardens Feat. Giant Fire Sculptures

As part of Melbourne Festival, the Botanic Gardens are getting French artists Compagnie Carabosse on board to set the gardens on fire, almost literally. It’s all lighting up on Wednesday 10 October. You can look forward to 30 giant fire palettes holding 6720 fire pots, plus 600 different ‘fire bulbs’ will be strung from trees throughout the whole of the gardens. Pretty!

Farewell Winter Like A Boss

If you haven’t heard of Peninsula Hot Springs, we’re a little disappointed, but we’ll let it slide. On the coast of Fingal you’ll find this epic attraction, complete with over 50 different bathing experiences set among seriously stunning settings. Not only that, there are loads of massages and facials that you can also indulge in for the ultimate relaxation.

Fight Zombies Til’ The Death

Yeah, you read that right! Zero Latency in North Melbourne is the latest piece of world-class VR gaming tech to hit town. Set inside an abandoned warehouse you and your pals can free-roam in a multiplayer universe and attempt to obliterate zombies (aww, yeah!) Now that’s our idea of a wild Friday night out.

Eat The Best “Chinese-ish” Food You’ll Ever Eat

Super Ling has just opened its doors in Carlton and it’s seriously unreal. Make sure to order the Mapo Tofu Jaffles, a delicious pocket of bread dusted with chilli and jam packed with mouth-watering pork and tofu. For the main event, we strongly suggest the steamed barra with chilli oil, soy dressing, Chinese cabbage and peanuts. That dish alone is enough to come back again and again for (and we probably will, so don’t judge).

Cuddle Fur Babies

Ring the alarm! Frankston City Council are hosting a Pet’s Day Out on Sunday 14 October and it’s going to be PACKED with flippin’ adorable fluff balls. Take a cute snap in the pet photo booth, enjoy loads of free entertainment, get your pooch’s weight assessed at the marquee and just generally be in doggo heaven.

Indulge In An Un-Brie-Lievable Cheese Fest

The annual Say Cheese Festival is returning to the Prahran Market on Sunday October 28 and we’re low-key losing it. Featuring all of Melbourne’s best cheese suppliers, you can expect to be drooling all over the joint with tastings, demonstrations, fondue bar and a market trail just some of the delights on offer.

Devour Indian Street Food

Clear your calendar on Saturday 14 October because the seriously legit Diwali Indian Festival is coming to Fed Square. Expect fireworks, hundreds of breathtaking lanterns, Henna painting, Bollywood dancers and most importantly, the most authentic Indian street food you could ever imagine. We can smell the samosas already.

Gallivant Around The North With A Cocktail In Hand

Now this is our kind of tour. The guys from the Funky Fitzroy Cocktail Tour will take you on an epic 3-hour discovery of Melbourne’s hip northside. With Fitzroy and Collingwood on the itinerary, prepare yourself to explore eclectic venues, hidden cocktail bars, top notch tipple and even Aussie-as-jaffles to soak it all up.
