Chopsticks at the ready, fine folk of Melbourne, because the inaugural Night Noodle Markets are about to roll into town and make your November even more tasty!
As part of The Age Good Food Month, presented by Citi, for two blissful weeks from Monday 18th November, the picturesque surrounds of Alexandra Gardens will simmer with the sights, sounds and smells of an Asian hawker-style market.
Not a noodle fan (are you off your noodle?!)? Fear not, as there's much more on offer than oriental tagliatelle. Think Shanghai-style soup dumplings, Peking duck pancakes, glorious roti and true blue Thai desserts, for starters. With some of the city's best restaurants on board, including Longrain and Mamak, you can rest assured that your belly is in for a treat.
"But what of my parched throat?", we hear you cry. We have been assured your larynx will be well lubed, as, in addition to around 25 food stalls, there will be bars aplenty!
The TUL team will be making a beeline to the red deck-chaired Rekorderlig set up, to sip our way through all their latest offerings (have your TRIED the passionfruit? Manna. From. Heaven!).
Not enough sensory stimulation for you? There will also be music, sweet music, plus all manner of nightly entertainment.
A much-loved annual event in Sydney, last year's NNM attracted 200, 000 people. Pffft, we can beat that Melbourne!
