My dear foodie friends, how does a 6-course dinner prepared by Jacques Reymond sound? Absolutely, positively magnifique? Yep, we think so too!
The French Dinner is coming to Melbourne on the 28th of June, promising an evening of champagne sipping, a delectable degustation and riotous entertainment, all in a secret location somewhere in Melbourne!
Want to know more? Of course you do! Just be sure to keep it all on the down low.
First, your journey will start with a private invitation detailing where to meet your driver. Yep, that's right, you get your own driver – so faaancy! Once you meet him, you'll jump into a luxurious vintage car and be chauffeured to the secret dinner destination, where you'll be greeted with champagne aperitifs and classical tunes. Pretty cool, hey?
Well, it gets even better! The pièce de résistance of The French Dinner is, of course, the French dinner. Jacques Reymond has crafted a spectacular 6-course, seasonal degustation menu for the evening, each course matched with a delectable French wine. While he won't let us in on all of the dishes he'll be serving (oh Jacques, you iron fortress, you!), we can assure you that your taste buds are in for an absolute treat! I mean, can you really expect anything less than amazing from one of Melbourne's best chefs?
Oh, and we've also heard whispers that there'll be some saucy entertainment running throughout the night, with cabaret dancers giving a Moulin Rouge-worthy tabletop performance. Who knows, there may even be a magician doing the rounds…but we better stop, before we let too much slip!
This secret dinner is one of four unique dining experiences held over 2014, with two in Sydney and another taking place in Melbourne later this year. And, if the first secret dinner in Sydney was anything to go by, us Melbourne diners are set for a très bon time!
So, my Francophile friends, dust off your snazziest finery and book a ticket to The French Dinner – this is one secret rendezvous you don't want to miss!
