Summer BBQs, monster movies, and gin appreciation pop-ups. This weekend in Melbourne is a quirky mix to say the least, but we're still as pumped as ever! Foodies, you'll be impressed as per usual with what's on in Melbourne. Maybe the foodie events on this weekend will even convert a few extras into the ranks of Melbourne foodie-dom. 

Whatever events you pick to partake in this weekend, you're sure to enjoy this fun-filled list of things to do in Melbourne town this coming weekend!

Thursday 20th

You don't have to embark on a road trip to taste a little of the Barossa Valley, because for one night only, Huxtable in Fitzroy is bringing the Barossa to you. Hosting Lachlan Colwill, Head Chef of South Australia's award-winning Hentley Farm, this five-course degustation will showcase a wonderful range of South Australian wines, matched with delicious flavours such as Smokey Bay Oysters and Schu-am Pork. Get your enGINes revving for Project Botanicals: A Distinctly Different Pop-Up Bar in North Melbourne. Hosted by Bombay Sapphire, and running until the 6th of December, head on down to celebrate all things gin. With 10 different cocktails by Bombay Sapphire, created to match 10 dishes designed by Gary Mehigan, for only $35 you get to choose two pairs of fancy flavours. With choices like cassia blackberry fix cocktail matched with sticky braised pork ribs, and a lemon collins paired with crispy tostaditas with cured king fish, we're going to have trouble only picking two!

Promising to be bigger, bloodier and more debauched than ever before, the festival kicks off tonight with Melbourne premiere of slasher Charlie's Farm. Melbourne art-appreciators, make sure you check out Sydney based sculptor, Alex Setton's solo exhibition at McClelland from Sunday 16th November until Sunday 8th of February. Also showing at Linden from the 6th of Jan, the exhibition, Last Resort, explores the issue of asylum seekers through sculptural discourse.

Oh Good Food Month, we're a little bit in love. November has officially become naughty, and helping to right the scales a little is a healthy (but still delicious) lunch at The Builders Arms. Aptly titled, Nourish will present a selection of tasty treats from winemakers James Erksine and Patrick Sullivan, who have teamed up with Andrew McConnell and Josh Murphy, who've designed a scrumptious matching menu.

Sunday sessions are sorted, thanks to Dr Morse in Abbotsford. Every Sunday in November, this awesome Abbotsford beer garden will be hosting Suckling Pig Sundays, and Tap Takeovers! This Sunday, Mornington Peninsula Brewery is strutting their stuff, showcasing some truly spectacular craft beer. But don't forget the suckling pig on the spit! For $20 guests can pig out on a pint and some delicious pork, crackling, potato and slaw.

Still looking for things to do in Melbourne this weekend? Community arts collective, Brunswickfolks, have organised an epic live charity music event! Springfolks will present acts such as The Evening Cast, Captain Apples, Fierce Mild, Tom-Lee Richards, Clyyve, Kate Bart and MonMon. Proceeds go to the Melbourne City Mission.  With market stalls, food and drink rounding things out, head on down and contribute to the community with the Springfolks live music event!

With their Champagne and Sparklings of the World tasting event, you're bound to be smiling as you sip the afternoon away in their charming garden courtyard.
