13th Apr 2017

The moment we’ve been waiting (and prepping our stomachs for) is finally here! Easter weekend is upon us and it’s an extra long one—because Jesus got three days rest, so why shouldn’t we?

As we take this time to reflect on new life, there’s no better time to plan how we’re going to make the most of ours, so get ready to spend a relaxing weekend laughing with friends, hunting for eggs with your fur-babies (actual babies also welcome), and getting a bit philanthropic—it is a religious holiday after all.

Best Of Both Sides Festival

Tensions between Melbourne’s Northside and Southside run to the very core of our dear city—a rivalry second only to West Side Story’s singing and dancing street gangs. This weekend however, Windor’s Lucky Coq and Fitzroy’s Bimbo Deluxe are putting the rivalry to one side to come together and celebrate The Best of Both Sides. Not only will both venues be hosting acts from almost 100 local musicians and DJs—Big Words, Sunshine, Illo, JPA, Kiti, Kodiak Kid, Ezra Harvey and Tom Prefect for starters—they will also be offering killer menu deals with food and bevvies starting at just $5. Be brave this weekend—venture to the other side of the river and discover what’s on offer.

Where: Lucky Coq, 179 Chapel Street, Windsor; Bimbo Deluxe, 376 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy
When: Thursday 13 to Monday 17 April

It’s got a massive selection of meat and vegetables, incredible bakeries, delis, clothing stalls and heaps more. A good pit stop on your way to the Dandenongs proper.
