This Hidden Mexican Joint Does 8 Different Types Of Margarita

By Ellen Seah - 23 Oct 2017

One of the oldest and classic cocktails served around the world, there’s more variety to a margarita than salt ‘n’ sugar. Jalisco Mexican (aka Margaritaville) is positioned in a prime location on Chapel Street and serves eight different varieties of premium margaritas, along with three frozen margaritas.

The classic is served with tequila, triple sec, agave and lime on the rocks. Colour-popping varieties include the Red Restorer (pomegranate and cranberry) or the Mexican Moon (Malibu, blue curacao and lime). Our personal fav is the sombrero with tequila, triple sec, peach and strawberry liqueur and lime.

Lemon, Midori or strawberry frozen margaritas are ideal for summer, while Jalisco also offer a small range of Mexican beers, cocktails, spirits and wines.

On the food front, you can’t go wrong with crispy, plump cheese stuffed jalapenos served with salsa. Mexican fries seasoned generously and topped with chipotle mayonnaise is a crowd pleaser, while a variety of dips and nachos are richly spiced and generously topped with fresh ingredients.

Tacos are (rightfully) the hero of the menu, stuffed with ingredients like fat tiger prawns, cabbage, tangy chilli lime mayo and pice de gallo. Other favourites include the fish taco, pulled pork; or chorizo with feta, rocket and black bean.

Grilled quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas and fajitas make up the rest of the vibrant menu. If you're visiting in summer, we recommend snagging a table outside in the colourful beer garden.
