Escape Isolation With These Amazing New Unyoked Tiny Houses In Gippsland

By Ben Tyers
29th May 2020

Unyoked's Louka cabin set amongst bushes and pine trees in the Central Gippsland mountains.

We've all been champing at the bit to book a weekend away in regional Victoria, and with restrictions easing over the next few weeks, that finally looks like a reality.

Unyoked, is a business which helps you get away from it all. And recently there's been plenty to be stacking up on your mind. A trip away to the wilderness is the best way to unwind and take your mind of those stresses building up.

The team has tiny houses all over Victoria and NSW to stay in, and during the pandemic, they've been busy opening two new tiny Unyoked houses in Gippsland.

Louka

Central Gippsland

The first new cabin is around two hours from Melbourne in central Gippsland.

Unyoked classifies Louka's adventure level as "Medium Spice", as its set in the beautiful Victorian mountains surrounded by pine trees.

The cabin is named after a man the founders met in Indonesia

"We met Louka in Indonesia. A French uni student he'd escaped the cold city-life one winter to meander through the archipelago. He never went back. We met him 10 years later still in Indo working as a dive instructor spending his days happy and exploring. Finding what worked for him and making a life around it, everyone could do with a bit more Louka."

The Details

Cost: $223 weeknights, $253 weekends
Check in: 3pm
Check out: 11pm
What's provided: Bedding, towels, gas stove, fire pit and more.

Anant

Central Gippsland

Anant, like Louka, is just over two hours from the city.

It's classified as "Medium Spice" also and is situated on a quiet parcel of land with a running creek nearby.

Like Louka, the Unyoked founders met Anant in Indonesia.

"Anant crossed our paths during yoga training in Ubud. He'd been living the corporate \"normal\" life but realised he couldn't pray to the cult of productivity any longer. He left his desk went to join a monastery and changed his name to ∞. Taking his path into his own hands looking for something meaningful and doing it head-first. Sure we can learn a bit from Anant."
