Welcome to Thornbury is going full Mykonos this weekend at their annual Greek Food Festival. From 12pm this Saturday and Sunday, we'll see some of Melbourne’s best Greek eats get together for an epic weekend of oregano-dusted good stuff.
So what can you expect from this one? Over the bar will be Mythos by the gallon, along with a heap of Ouzo to set you up for a messy Saturday night—or Sunday arvo, we don’t judge.
The line-up differs from Saturday to Sunday, so here’s what you need to know.
Saturday we’ve got some fan favourites: Greek Trojan, Greek Street Food, Kitchen of Ambrosia, Jim Brown Cypriot Kitchen, Dana's Falafel, Mr Burger and Chef Calamari. What should you beeline for? Jim Brown Cypriot Kitchen—they're doing slow-cooked lamb in pita pockets, piping hot halloumi chips and gooey Nutella bourekia.
Sunday gets some new additions: Greek Street Food, Greek Trojan, Jim Brown Cypriot Kitchen, Kitchen of Ambrosia and Mr Burger will be back, and joining the party is Food Coma and St. Gerry's (your Greek dessert go-to). Bring on the loukoumades...
Get down guys, gyros, dolmades, kleftiko, ouzo—they’ve legit got it all covered. Kids are welcome (until 8pm) and most importantly, so are dogs. Woof.
More good food news—the crew at Fancy Hanks just released their own range of hot sauces.
