There are only two things people really ‘mull’: wine and complex ideas. This weekend is all about the first one. Following the sell-out success of its first mulled wine and cheese festival, Welcome to Thornbury are throwing a second one. And it’s on this Saturday.
We’re talking endless fondue (just TRY and finish it all), Dickensian scents like cloves and star anise wafting on the winter breeze, more ricotta cannoli than you can shake a cinnamon stick at, plus six different mulled wine flavours to try (think cherry, apple pie and sticky date pudding, plus a special mulled cider).
That’s Amore will be handling the cannoli situation, while Mr Burger is doing a very special limited-edition Raclette Burger (officially Melbourne’s new ooziest burger). Dip’d will also be on hand, slinging mulled wine doughnuts by the dozen.
The full line-up also includes: The Cheese Rebels, Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks, Brunetti Woodfired Pizza, Pasta Face, That Arancini Guy, Frencheese and boozy tastings from Wimmera Hills Winery. Mull it over while you race for the car keys...
Where: Welcome To Thornbury, 520 High St Northcote
When: 12pm – 10pm, Saturday 12 August
