Holy mother of cheese have we got some good news for you. You know how you love cheese more than anything else in the world? Well do you know what you’re going to like even more than that? Hot, baked, stuffed wheels of goo-ey deliciousness which are so good you’d agree to give away your first born for just one more bite.
Someone baked cheese on Masterchef a few years ago and we’ve been patiently waiting for bars and restaurants in Perth to get on board, and finally they have started! Here are three places who have jumped on the hot cheese trend train.
Frisk. Small Bar
Northbridge
If there is anything better than hot cheese, it’s hot cheese with a glass of hot spiced gin. Every Wednesday night until the end of August, Frisk are doing hot cheese nights and you’ll want to go ahead and book a spot stat. For 20 bucks you’ll get a wheel of baked camembert stuffed with rosemary and garlic and a glass of the most delicious drink you will ever drink. Not joking. It’s kinda like hot apple pie in a glass but better.
Benny’s
Fremantle
Brie cheese baked with Karri honey, walnuts and rosemary, paired with a steaming hot glass of mulled wine. If that doesn’t sound like a good winter’s night to you then you must be dead inside. If you really want to indulge you could follow this up with Benny's chocolate molten cake with salted caramel sauce. But that’d be crazy, right?
Woodpeckers Woodfired Restaurant And Cafe
Subiaco
Raclette exists in Perth and it’s in Subiaco at Woodpeckers. What’s raclette you say? Just a GIANT wheel of cheese which is heated so that the melted part can be scraped off until all your cheesy dreams come true. If you don’t understand, type raclette into YouTube and watch this #cheeseporn in action. You need to book this delightful dish before you go so remember to call ahead. These guys are also BYO so grab a bottle of wine and then go and stuff yourself full of cheese.
