Summer has well and truly arrived (finally) and this week is going to be filled to the brim with epic activities for all of you Sydneysiders, let’s just hope the weather plays nice.
Here are five of the best things to do in Sydney this week, so now all you have to do is gather your mates and mark each and everyone in your in diary now.
The Liveworks program is a Festival of Experimental Art running over two weeks, celebrating artistic performance. Showcasing a mixt of Australian and Asia Pacific international artists, lucky us, who are at the forefront of contemporary art. There’s free events, ticketed performances, workshops, conversations and more so even if you totally blew your budget on the weekend, you can still get #cultured.

Baked From The Dead
If you are looking for something particularly spooky to do this Halloween, then the Shangri-La Hotel will certainly serve you up a trick-or-treat or two. Prepare yourselves for a chilling night of killer desserts at the Bake From The Dead event, including treats from Flour Market, as well as Anne Polyviou’s desserts. We know what you are thinking, Amaaaazing. Undoubtedly, your sweet tooth and your taste buds will be satisfied, because this is nothing short of food stall heaven, with Luxbite, MakMak Macaroons, Grumpy Donuts, Brewtown Newtown, Devon on Danks and Papi Donut (perhaps skip dinner before you come) joining in the fun. The best-dressed and most terrifying guest will be awarded a prize, so pull out all the stops with this year’s costume. It will so be worth it.

McGrath Estate Agents Melbourne Cup Race Day
Hold on to your horses and fascinators, because one of most anticipated, not to mention iconic events on the racing calendar McGrath Estate Agents Melbourne Cup Race Day! So this Tuesday, race down (see what we did there?) to the Royal Randwick Racecourse for Sydney’s biggest trackside party. Check out all the live action from Melbourne on the super screen, as you simultaneously lust over the Bearded Bakers (who will deliver more than just baked goods) and live entertainment throughout the day. This is your final chance to visit The Bucket List marquee, and truly kick-start those summer vibes.
