With a motto like ‘to Eat is Human, To Eat Well is Divine’, you’d have to think there are some pretty delish things coming out of Preach on Bondi’s foreshore. This whole-food eatery has been serving up colourful and delicious all day breaky, brunch and coffee.

A bar and bistro dedicated completely to Vermouth has opened at Barangaroo.

A classic, 19th century-inspired English pub has just opened in the CBD and this is where to head for a classic feed this weekend. We’ll start with the good stuff—The Duke of Clarence has a 500-strong line-up of spirits but that’s not where the fun ends. They’ve also got a pretty hefty selection of sherry, port, and sparkling wine as well as six vintage Pimm’s products from the 1960s and 70s (you’ll want to try every one).

If you’ve ever had dumplings (um, who hasn’t?!), you’ll know that just like your favourite chip, once you pop, you can’t stop. Soon you’ve scoffed down your fifteenth dumpling, are questioning all of your life decisions and your self-restraint is long gone. 

The latest addition to Sydney’s speciality coffee scene, Caffeine Villains Espresso Bar have just thrown open their doors in Newport and it's right across the road from the beach (winning!).

Don’t call ZADI a gym. It’s a fitness concept of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that’s designed just for the ladies. 

Another week, another cracking (and iconic) Sydney pub has had a face lift. And team, you’ll want to know about this one because it’s in the heart of The Rocks and serving up some seriously epic pub grub. The Observer has been overhauled by the same team that made Meat & Wine Co. great. 

Stop everything, team! Your favourite fried chicken joint is heading over the bridge and dear-sweet-baby-cheezus this is good freaking news. If you’re a Parra local, listen up, because Parra just got good, and by that we mean you now have the crazy good fried chicken sandwiches Surry Hills does. What a time to be alive. 

Sydney, meet the literal cherry on top of Barangaroo House. Smoke is the rooftop bar with all the harbour and city skyline views you could need in a lifetime. And you’ll be happy to know that this bad boy is all about smoky beverages and hella smoky feeds to match (yeah, you should be scheduling after-works drinks here immediately).

We’re not going to lie, we’re kind of (ok, totally) excited about this tiny bar that’s actually one helluva gin palace. To put it bluntly, if you’re a fan of the G and T, you’re going to love this gem. And if you’re not a fan—these guys will be changing your mind toot sweet. That’s not even an exaggeration. Plus, all the drinking vessels here are absolute perfection including the G and T fishbowl and a little something they like to call smokin’ watering cans.

Name a better duo than all-day brunch and specialty coffee. No really, we’ll wait. The Factory Grind in Surry Hills is the kind of place where the people are lovely, learn your name and remember your damn coffee order as well (we know—it’s the dream). They’re serving up the good stuff all day long, from classic smashed avo to cappuccinos and to be totally honest, there’s a reason this place is our local. 

Whenever we get word that a new Japanese joint is opening in Sydney, we pretty much line up at the front door. So imagine our excitement when we heard that Motto Motto (aka one of Brisbane’s best) was moving into Macquarie Centre. Spoiler alert: excitement levels were unbelievably high.

Sydney’s sushi dream team has arrived in Barangaroo and FYI, they’ve brought a robata grill with them. We’re talking about the gang from Lotus Dining, of course. Meet your new fave Japanese spot, Fujisaki. 

Upper East Side Bondi has just landed in Bondi and it’s throwing all kinds of tropical vibes. If you’re looking for a lush oasis with incredible food and cocktails, right near the beach no less, then get here STAT.

4 Ounces Burger Co has just opened a brand new burger joint in the Inner West and lovers of their delicious (seriously) menu should be damn pleased about it. 

The freshest addition to the iconic Walsh Bay finger wharves, Seventeen is a café by day and contemporary restaurant by night. Also featuring an in-house concierge, dine-out options and a fully stocked deli (just saying).

Prepare to throw any semblance of healthy eating out the window, team. There’s a new ice cream truck in town and (wait for it) they’re serving pimped scoops of deep fried ice cream. We still have no freaking idea how deep fried ice cream really works, but what we do know is a creamy scoop of goodness wrapped in a crispy shell is a damn good idea. Always. 

This is it, guys. Here is where the magic of LUXE all began. This is the home of the famous LUXE poached chicken sandwich, the LUXE plate with avocado, tomato and goats feta or ricotta, and some of the best coffee and baked items, right in the heart of Westfield Bondi Junction.

The Baron boys have just opened a bagel café in Bella Vista and oooooh boy, you need to head here. If you’re a local then you already know how freaking good this place is (these guys wouldn’t have it any other way), but for those of you who couldn’t fathom crossing the bridge for something like a bagel, welllll all that’s about to change. 

Prepare your taste buds for some seriously delicious eats people because from the ashes of Bao Stop, rises Cloud Thief!

Tucked away on the quieter end of Darlinghurst Road, you’ll find the unassuming Black Bottle. Described by the owners as a cave á manger (French for a wine shop that doubles as a restaurant), this slick tapas style bar is everything Sydney has been waiting for.

Add Nirvana, Radiohead and Blur to your playlist, because there’s a brand new 90s rock ‘n’ roll-inspired Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. From the same guys who brought us Indu and Mejico, Kid Kyoto is the third instalment of this legendary foodie trifecta.

Bea opens inside a beautiful AF three-storey building in Barangaroo and honestly, let the feasting begin. The restaurant itself seats 180 so there’s plenty of room for you and your crew. And in true Matt Moran fashion, everything on the menu is home style with a twist—that twist being a little bit special and all kinds of delish. Expect all your favourite seafood, meats and veggies from Australia’s very own backyard.

Ever felt embarrassed about your super-specific coffee order, or had your barista raise an eyebrow when you request an extra half shot? If you’re a fan of the java juice who likes to be a little extra sometimes, you’ll froth (pun intended) on the “coffee tailoring” concept at Haven Tailoring Coffee Joyously. In case you couldn't tell from the name, judgement is out the window at this bright and airy Surry Hills café, where they’ll tailor every brew right down to each single element (body, sweetness, aroma, acidity, and aftertaste) to ensure you have the perfect bespoke cuppa.

The three most romantic words in the English language: chocolate gift box. Gift-giving just got a whole lot easier (and prettier) with the beautiful little handcrafted truffles from Good Measure Co.

Once a local milk, The Rio is back in Summer Hill and better than ever. Because now they’re serving booze. The once loved milk bar that dished up milkshakes and all things sweet on the daily, has been transformed into a Greek-style cocktail bar that pays tribute to The Rio back in the day. You can thank owner George Poulos for that stroke of genius.

It’s no secret that we’re a fan of all things Swedish (IKEA, meatballs—you get the idea). Funkis Köket, which translates to kitchen in Swedish, is our latest Swedish obsession in Sydney and we can’t get enough. This quaint cafe sits in the transformed storeroom of clothing and homewares store Funkis in Paddington and extends to an outdoor courtyard complete with lush plant porn.

Sydney has new cafes joining it’s delicious ranks daily, but every so often one will deliver a dish that is so perfect, we can’t help but take notice. Guys, we’d like to introduce you to our new friend Everyday Espresso and more specifically, their Coop’s Benny. Before we dive too deep into that bad boy (which is a pimped AF croissant, in case you were wondering), we’ll tell you a little something about this fresh Redfern gem. 

Time to dig out your spandex people—Infinite Cycle is going to get you moving again (lord help us). As Australia’s only virtual cycle studio, traditional gym prepare to have your mind blown. With responsive bikes that actually lean from side to side (like an actual bike), Infinite Cycle has changed the Sydney spin class scene for good.

From the legends who brought us Holey Moley Golf Club comes an epic circus-themed funhouse that delivers on all fronts. We’ll explain: this one involves everything from wild arcade games to wacky cocktails and all with a retro spin. Yeah, we’re all over this one. 

Because every human deserves to unwind in a floating cocoon. Oh yes, cocoon meditation is here people and you’ll be all loved-up and carefree in anti-gravity silk (there’s really no other way to fitness). And just so you know, it’s mega luxe and basically oozes vaycay vibes.

W1LL is the newest yoga studio to hit Surry Hills and FYI, you need to know about it. Taking over the studio space once home to Urban Yoga, this place boasts the latest and greatest tech to help with all things mindfulness. And yes, that’s a thing. Yoga classes see song and visuals (curated by an in-house DJ) paired with each movement and the goal is to create a fully immersive experience. Meanwhile, meditation classes use audio guides to help you escape the distraction and hassle of the daily grind. TBH, we feel pretty damn relaxed already.

It’s the brand new CBD hole-in-the-wall sandwich bar churning out delicious vegan sangas. Let’s take a moment to thank the foodie gods for this one (and of course the real dream-makers here—the team behind Verd). Taking the location of Zeitgeist, Joe’s is the humble vegan abode with all things pickled, spiced, slow-roasted and veggie-friendly.

Lavico is an Italian restaurant hiding in one of the most unlikely spots—Canterbury Leagues Club.  They have nailed the casual vibes with an outdoor dining amongst the lush bougainvillea and come night time, it’s all about the fairy lights. Perfect for families and groups, the menu has a share plate focus where traditional Italian dishes are king..

Sydney just scored this bloody winner of a new Mexican joint and it’s one that you’ll most certainly be hitting up. And not just because of the treasure hunt you’ll find yourself on while trying to locate the entrance (hint: it’s above the Newtown train station) or the awesome string of colourful flags or fairy lights that adorn this beauty. 

If you’re not familiar with The Daily Edited (TDE.) then prepare to have your handbag-loving mind blown. TDE. is the place you head (either on the interwebs or in DJ’s Sydney) when you’re in desperate need of personalised leather goodies. ICYMI, every single one is crazy beautiful.

This damn delicious cafe is just quietly the ideal place to take your friend with the difficult dietaries (you know the one) and the only cafe you need to hit up post gym. That is, if you want all the protein, carbs, coffee and sneakily healthy cheat meals, all filled to the brim with nutrition. Yep, Warren & Holt is officially the dream and it’s just become one of our go-to cafes in the inner west. 

From the legends who brought us the iconic Masala Bowl, comes Masala Kitchen. It’s the new kid on the block in Moore Park, and it’s here to transport you straight to India with some of the most authentic fare this side of the equator. 

Now that we’re all grown up (for the most part), we’re all looking for ways to workout that aren’t necessarily traditional, aka boring or difficult. Cue Ninja 101. It’s like the creators of this place were listening to our thoughts and answered our prayers. Central Park just got a whole lot fancier (and comfier TBH) with their newest addition—a luxe AF cinema. Take a seat on their reclining plush lounges and munch on buttery popcorn in the newest Palace Cinema in Central Park Mall. FYI that’s the huge building covered in lush greenery (you know the one). 

Just when you thought Sydney’s Mexican food scene had reached its peak, we come along to tell you there’s more to come. So much more. Melbourne fave, Fonda, has just opened in Bondi Beach and they’re serving up traditional Mexican eats on the daily.  They’re taking some of Australia’s best produce and taking it to the next level so you and your crew can (and should) go HAM on their share-style menu.

Sitting smack bang in the middle of the always bustling Potts Point, The Larmont is a modern boutique hotel with SoHo vibes. Oh, did we mention that it’s all about luxury here? Because it is.

Located in Walsh Bay, literally under the Harbour Bridge, Pier One has views that we (and you) can only dream of. Seriously, this is PEAK Sydney. Small yet effortlessly cool, Spicers Potts Point takes the best of Sydney and makes it even better. With only 20 guest rooms you’ll feel fancy AF as you stroll the halls of the three heritage listed terraces in your plush white robe and matching slippers. Or are we the only ones who do that? The completely refurbished boutique hotel sits on the oh-so-leafy Victoria Street, with the aptly named Victoria Terrace Suites making up this lush boutique hotel.

If there has ever been a hotel with a perfect location in the Sydney CBD, this is the one. Primus Hotel makes your Sydney stay easy AF with little things like Town Hall Station, Pitt Street Mall and George Street all within a minute’s walk.

Taking pole position in Darling Harbour, the brand new Sofitel Hotel oozes French luxury—all the better for pretending you’ve skipped over to Europe. With all that the harbour has to offer literally on its doorstep, you won’t have to walk far to find some seriously good eats and drinks (never forget the drinks). 

When Holey Moley took over Newtown you all lost your collective minds. Well, prepare to lose them all over again because the now famous mini golf bar is headed for The Hills. And no, not Surry.

Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney is in the heart of the city, just a short stroll from the heritage Rocks precinct. This grand sanctuary of luxury has served Sydney delicious cocktails, eats and views for years and keeps them coming back with their bespoke service. This not-so-little slice of heaven has epic panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and we’re not just saying this, but it’s literally the best view in Sydney.

Do you ever find yourself in need for a 5-star luxury escape in the heart of Sydney? Ok great, we didn’t think we were the only ones. The suites at The Langham are next level, with custom everything and massive terraces perfect for soaking up the sunset over the Western Harbour.

Pizza Madre is the bambino of Italian restaurants that call Marrickville home and FYI, it’s all vegetarian and by the same legends behind Two Chaps. Excited? Well yeah, you damn well should be. So when the hanger pangs set in, pop down to this place, where the wood fire oven’s roaring –you know what that means: all of the delicious pizza.

While we’re all well acquainted with Potts Point bar, The Butler, its brand spankin’ revamped bar has just become one of our new favourites. Named after one of Victoria Street’s iconic residents, Juanita Nielsen, the venue is pretty much as cool as she was.

Guys, prepare yourselves. Ready? Good. A harbour side microbrewery has arrived in Sydney and yes, you should damn well be excited about it. Located conveniently in the Overseas Passenger Terminal building you’ll cop the stunning expansive views of the Quay and the Opera House when you head to this joint.
