You heard it here first! Head to The Grovedale this Friday or Saturday night and you’ll be able to try a complimentary sample of the very tasty Bulldog Gin G&Ts. Food, Wine & Jazz Weekend
Easily one of the Tulip Festival’s best weekends. Tap your toes along to live music while you sip on a glass of wine and soak up the view of acres of flowers. Sounds just lovely right? Spend a day enjoying delicious Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges food and beverages. Tickets are $26 and include a complimentary beer and wine tasting.
Royal Melbourne Show
The Royal Melbourne Show is back! If you haven’t already been down then put some time away this weekend because the show is wrapping up for the year. Romeo & Juliet (Vol. 1) | 20 Year Anniversary
Remember Baz Luhrmann’s take on Romeo and Juliet? Remember how kickass the soundtrack was? Well that was 20 years ago and to celebrate Tom Dickins, along with some other killer Fringe performers, are putting on a two-night 90’s pop rock party. Tickets are $30 but be warned, this may trigger uncontrollable 90's nostalgia.
Who doesn’t love cheese? And what’s better than a night full of cheese tastings! If you’ve always wanted to learn more but never knew how or where then you should definitely check this out. This workshop will take you through the ten benchmarks styles of cheeses and make you feel like a pro at your next dinner party. Check it out here.
Ocean Defense Tour 2016
Save the whales! You don’t have to go out and brave the open ocean to support Sea Shepard’s cause, their annual fundraiser goes a long way too. Head down to Williamstown for a huge day of food vendors, market stalls, raffles, rides, tours of the MV Steve Irwin, live entertainment from Ella Hooper and comedy trio Tripod plus much more. There’s something about a local food and wine festival that’s just so relaxing. If you’re in the west (or feel like a bit of a drive) then head over to Eynesbury for their Regional Tastes festival. Tickets are only $15 and you’ll be in for a day of cooking demos, live music, wine tastings, food stalls, a kid’s zone and heaps of local wine, beers and food.
FoodSocial Global Feast
K for Korea! FoodSocial are continuing their Global Feast series and are collaborating with Guhng to bring you a traditional four-dish Korean dinner. Bring out your inner DJ this Sunday at Littlefoot Bar. Come on, we’ve all wondered what its like to get on the decks in the DJ booth (am I saying it right?) and now Melbourne Record Club is going to make those dreams come true. Bring down your favorite LP’s and 45’s and meet fellow record enthusiasts, chat, swap and show off your rare collectables. Wine Maker Series
Altair Restaurant’s winemaker series wraps up this Sunday with its final dinner. The night will feature a four-course dinner with matching wines for $120 per person. Awakening: Montalto Celebrates Spring
Pencil in October 9th for Montalto Vineyard’s first ever Awakening. This spring celebration is a day of guest speakers, live music, cooking demonstrations and horticultural education! There will be seasonal food from the pizza kitchen, classes where chefs show you how to cook meals straight from the garden and private wine tasting. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children.
