Biggie Smalls is officially opening its second venue this September, in none other than Chapel Street’s hipster hometown, Windsor. In anticipation of the grand opening, Biggie Smalls have teamed up with the guys from Four Pillars Distillery to bring you an exclusive cocktail (Gin & Juice) and a pop-up truck at Four Pillars Distillery in Healesville. And you can get both this weekend. Gin & Juice features Four Pillars’ Rare Dry Gin, pomegranate, cloudy apple and spiced syrup. Man, we’re thirsty already.

And now you have the chance to learn from the best, the Queen of Chocolate herself, Kirsten Tibballs, at Savour Chocolate & Patisserie School. Under her divine guidance, you'll try your hand at learning all of the techniques needed to create your very own Parisian delicacies, aka, eclairs and macarons. If you feel like your skills aren’t aren't up to scratch, or you’re worried about burning Kirsten’s kitchen, you can opt to take online classes instead.

Presented at Northcote Town Hall, the program features creative and challenging contemporary performances from both emerging and established artists, both local and international. This year, Melbourne-based theatre company, Elbow Room are presenting their highly anticipated show, Niche – a surreal and irreverent story about celebrity in the digital age. Essentially the show juxtaposes two characters. A hyper-sexualised popstar and a professional epidemiologist in the STEM industry.

So it's no surprise that throughout the year it welcomes a diverse range of art projects, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions, markets, events and festivals. This weekend the convent is focusing on your body, mind and soul, in the form of a Wellbeing Market. The market will feature 35 stallholders including relaxing healers offering massage, reiki, sound healing and Indian head massage, psychic, medium and tarot reading, as well as the chance to buy local-made products like jewellery, essential oils, vegan skincare products, aromatherapy sprays and more. If it's good for your body, mind soul (or all of the above), you'll find it there. You may even find yourself there, too.

For The Diary

Chotto Closing Down

In order to honour the inevitable closure of Smith Street's temporary Japanese cafe, Chotto, the owners have decided that their last month of trade is going to feature a wish-list—all the events they wanted to do before they closed, but never had time for. The trio of events includes five-course omakase dinners (designed as a nod to each of the Chotto chef's culinary skills) and two unofficial Studio Ghibli events, including Studio Ghibli inspired food and live art showcases from the films by EV Johnson. It sounds like one hell of a send-off to the year that was. You gotta eat it to believe it.
