Cult Japanese Dessert Kurimu Is Launching In Melbourne This Month

Hang onto your pastry-loving hats because it’s going to be a good one. The team behind the crazily-popular Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts and Pafu Apple Puffs is about to launch a new tasty Japanese treat that’ll blow your tastebuds to dessert heaven.

Kurimu is like an elongated éclair, filled with a voluptuous crème custard filling and covered in a nutty crème patisserie topping. Kurimu ingredients will be fresh from local producers, and all Kurimu choux treats will be baked fresh on site daily. Plus, to maintain the crispiness of the choux shell and the creamy fillings, each individual Kurimu is piped full of delicious cream custard to order. Did someone ring a bell? Because we’re already salivating.

Opening first in Melbourne Central, Kurimu will be launching mid-July with plans to expand further in the coming months. And we’re no fortune tellers but we predict this crunchy and creamy Japanese treat is going to cause some impressive lines. But as with any Japanese dessert, the wait will certainly be worth it, so keep your eyes peeled for the launch.
