Heads Up, There’s A Curry Festival On This Weekend

Sure, you’ve been to music festivals, truffle festivals and wine festivals, but have you ever been to a CURRY festival?

The guys behind the Dandenong Markets (AKA the Cooks’ Market) are teaming up with Foodie Trails to bring Melbs its first ever curry festival, and our mouths are already watering.

Make no plans for Sunday 2 September and tell mum to chuck her roast in the bin. Things are gonna get spicy.

The line-up of vendors ensures it'll be a lick-your-lips kinda day (and we're not just talking about the spice), with Curry Up Now, Delicious Mauritius, Babaji's Kitchen, Taka Taka, Mobile Chakula and Hells Breath all cooking up a storm. Think chicken curries, lamb curries, duck curries and heaps more, spanning Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, even Japan. There’s also veggo options for all you non-meat-eaters, salads, deep-fried treats and a whole bunch of other good sh*t.

Entertainment is taken care of. You can munch on curries while watching Bollywood dance numbers and Mauritian live music. There's also stilt walkers and African drumming. Not enough? What about a singing Sri Lankan chef, because that’s a thing.

If chilli isn't your friend, there's gonna be a lot of milk-based stuff to quench the fire. The whole thing kicks off at 10am on Sunday.
