Bottoms Up, Stomping Ground Is Shouting You Your First Beer Back At The Pub

Two people enjoying a beer at the entrance of the Marquis of Lorne pub.

We’re all yearning for that feeling of a frosty pint glass delicately caressing our bottom lip at the pub, and the good folk at Stomping Ground Brewing Co. are helping make that moment all the more memorable when it comes around with 5000 free first beers.

Suitably named the Stomping Ground 5K, you can find the brew pouring at 50 venues across Melbourne including Marquis of Lorne, Neighbourhood Wine, Old Palm Liquor, Mt Erica Hotel and Bar Romantica.

The initiative comes as a response from Stomping Ground co-founder Guy Greenstone and team following the devastating effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has had across our city's hospitality industry.

“Melbourne’s hospitality industry is an integral part of what makes our city one of the best places to live in the world. We know how much the industry is struggling right now, but also how much Melburnians are looking forward to that very first beer back at the pub.

“So, we wanted to facilitate this by shouting 5,000 Melburnians their first drink and supporting 50 of the best pubs and bars in Melbourne to get back up and running. I know that first sip will be one I will savour for a long time,” says Greenstone.

To claim your well-earned first beer at the cost of absolutely nothing, all you have to do is find your preferred pub and register here
