The Victorian Government, working with Volunteering Victoria, has launched an online service connecting anyone who’s keen to lend a hand to those who need it most.
It’s called We Volunteer, and the service essentially matches up your skills with open volunteer roles in and around the city, as well as roles that can be performed at home.
The process for anyone keen to get involved is simple. First, you create your profile and select your skills and areas where you’d be interested in volunteering, then, your details will go out to volunteering organisations and resource centres so that they can contact you when a suitable role arises. You can also search for roles via the online portal.
While many want to give their time to others in need, they might not want to leave the home during stage 4 restrictions. Fortunately, there are plenty of volunteer roles going that can be completed from home.
