Foodies and craft beer lovers rejoice! Laneway Festival announced today that they will be bringing the best craft beers—and some great local food offerings—to the 14 February event this year.
Known not only for its eclectic mix of emerging musical talent, Laneway Festival returns in 2016 with a mouth-watering range of culinary delights and carefully chosen craft beers in each city. Let's start with the food, shall we?
Old Faithful Bar & BBQ will be joining forces with Clarences at their pop-up southern-style restaurant Heads Will Roll—and word on the street is they'll also be putting their culinary skills to the test in a cook off! Lucky Chan's Laundry + Noodle Bar will be dishing out classic Chinese fare, Braised Bros are bringing along their delectably tender braised meats and you're hot dog cravings can be fulfilled thanks to Wassup Dog.
Want more? You got it. Our fave Brazilian food truck, Comida do Sul, will be dishing out their tasty fare and La Paleta will be returning with their delicious Mexican icey treats (phew!), rounding out an epic food offering. Now there's no excuse to go hungry on festival day.
Laneway have also got craft beer galore on tap for you posh beer drinkers out there: Byron Bay’s own handcrafted brewery Stone & Wood will join Perth local brewery, Otherside. This is shaping up to be a foodie's dream... And we have our new favourite hero and festival guru Jerome Borazio to thank.
"We've worked really hard on establishing a great lineup of food for the festival," Borazio told us. "Each year we're improving our offering through hand-picking the vendors that we know will really make something great—this year's food will definitely show that. It’s also the first time we’ve offered craft beer so we’re pretty excited to be able to showcase some of the best beers in the country."
Meanwhile, if you're after a spot of shopping (hey, why not!), vinyl masters Mills Records will be on hand with a selection of signed vinyl.
Laneway Festival is coming, and summer is looking really, really good.
