Whether you're simply watching your waistline, or you're a gluten-free kid from way back when, there's no need to sacrifice the deliciousness of Italian cuisine just because you've gone GF—that's right folks, we've tracked down the best gluten-free Italian food in Sydney!

Dive into a great slice of pizza, a hearty lamb stew, or a comforting bowl of mushroom risotto... You can thank us later! Buon appetito!

Blackwater | Sans Souci

Gluten-free fine dining spots are few and far between, which is why we were so pleased to find this stylish waterfront Italian eatery! The menu at Blackwater is clearly labeled with tasty gluten-free options, which include a hearty serve of osso bucco, baked baby chicken, roasted duck, and grilled New Zealand scampi—but we'd recommend saving room for the side of corn cob with its drizzling of hot butter and shaved Parmesan (because everything is better with butter!).

Mad Pizza e Bar | Surry Hills

No longer do pizza lovers need to forgo their beloved slice just because they are dodging the gluten. Mad Pizza e Bar is serving up a whole 10 inches of gluten-free goodness with toppings such as sweet Spencer Gulf prawns, sliced pepperoni, and fat field mushrooms. For those on a health kick, there's also a bunch of nutritious Italian-style salads, which are sure to hit the spot!

Jamie's Italian | CBD

Oh, Mr. Oliver you never fail to impress! That's right kids, Jamie's delivering the gluten-free goods with Italian delicacies like truffle risotto, lamb chops, and veal flash steak. Pare it back with a glass of light and bubbly Prosecco for the ultimate gluten-free feast in Sydney.

Pompei's | Bondi

This bustling Bondi restaurant is well deserving of its spot on our hit list of Sydney's best gluten-free Italian! A long-standing institution, Pompei's offers a vast array of gluten-free options, from delectable antipasti to veal scallops and handmade gluten-free pizza—you'll be spoilt for choice!

Berta | CBD

Serving up seasonal, Italian produce with a menu that changes daily, we'd gladly head to Berta for a spot of wine and some gluten-free nibbles to match. There's creamy burrata with chargrilled baby leeks, fried duck egg and beetroot, and fresh whole trout gracing the menu, so you GF kids are certainly not missing out!

Big Mama's | Woollahra

This Italian trattoria in the heart of Woollahra knows how to cook up a gluten-free feast. From Big Mama's cured ocean trout to 12-hour lamb shoulder, Roman-style roast pork, and market-fresh fish, gluten-free foodies (and anyone with tastebuds, let's face it) will be smacking their lips with glee!

Pizza Picasso | Newtown

Hungry for pizza? Pizza Picasso boasts a stamp of approval by the NSW Coeliac Society, which has garnered it a cult following among Sydney's gluten-free crowd. With tasty toppings such as chilli chicken, mango and green prawn, and Greek lemony lamb, we guarantee you'll want to come back to taste them all!
