Bridge St Garage | The Verdict

Bridge St Garage joins Sydney's new wave of American-style bars and restaurants and we're licking our lips in delight! We'll be adding this one to the list of best new restaurant/bars in Sydney's CBD.

The space hails back to its former garage days with bare concrete ceilings, exposed brick walls, old railway sleepers, and recycled car headlights. The result is an industrial yet welcoming space with a bistro that gives a Latin American twist to old favourites. Burger fans, you're in luck - there's a dedicated burger bar at the front where you can eat in or even get your bun on the run. Handy and delicious!

To start, sink your teeth into the spicy chicken wings coated in sticky BBQ sauce and drizzled with blue cheese (amazing), or try the moreish empanadas which come with a beef or vegetarian filling. The pulled-pork Garage taco, will transport you to the streets of LA and is definitely worth a taste.

For mains, highlights include the deep fried Southern crispy chicken, the seafood grill, New-York cut steak and slow-roasted sticky pork ribs. If fire hot dry-aged Angus & Wagyu beef coupled with Spanish onions, radicchio, Provolone cheese and chimmichurri sounds like your idea of a good time, then you'll love the Gaucho burger, named after the Argentinian cowboy. If not, the rest of their burger line up will get your stomach growling with anticipation, and are all served with deliciously crunchy hand-cut potato chips.

Wash it down with one of their signature cocktails creations that put a spin on New Orleans' staples. We love the delicate and cheeky Breakfast Old Fashioned with Eagle Rare Bourbon, maple syrup and a dash of Agnostura's bitters, garnished with bacon. Yes, that's right – bacon! Not to be missed is the Sailor's Brew created with spiced rum and homemade apple iced tea. Yum! For the craft beer enthusiasts, take your pick from their boutique selection on tap (such as Hangman Pale Ale, 4 Pines, Moonboy and Sapporo) or from their extensive bottled variety.

And of course, you should leave room for dessert—think diner classics like the New York cheesecake and American apple pie, or go the Garage brownie with chilli jam and rhubarb ice cream. The diet can start another day!

As the CBD continues to be known for some of the best bars and restaurants in Sydney, Bridge St Garage is a must for your hit list.
