ICYMI, Wynyard station just got cool. We know—we’re as shocked as you are. This is the first sculpture of its kind in Sydney and just in case you have NFI what we’re talking about, we’ll break it down for you.

Interloop is a 50-metre-long installation that’s just popped up (literally) above a bank of escalators in Wynyard station. According to contemporary artist and all-round legend Chris Fox, it’s made entirely from salvaged wooden escalator treads from the very same station, and the result is pretty damn special. This thing weighs in at a whopping five tonnes, which gives you an idea how huge an effort it was to get this thing up in the air.
