The Gold Coast’s Best Feed Me Menus

These days the Gold Coast is chock-full with plenty of awesome menus created by our talented local chefs, but why go through the unnecessary (and very real) pain of choosing a single dish?

Here are seven of the Gold Coast’s best stress-free “feed me” options. Perfect for indecisive groups (you know the ones), there’s legit no downside to this share-style feast of dishes. Except maybe until the waiter has to roll you out the door.

Pablo Pablo

Pablo Pablo is a Palm Beach institution, and while plenty of funky new eateries have popped up in the vicinity, it remains one of the nicest Palmy venues for an evening out. Tapas-style share plate menus have also exploded across the Coast, but Spain is where the tapas phenomenon was born so, as you’d expect, Pablo Pablo nails it. Round up a table of your besties and head straight for the banquet menu where $43 per head will get you a steaming plate of mussels to share, a chef’s tasting platter of charcuterie, patatas bravas (diced potatoes in spicy tomato sauce), braised lamb shoulder, chicken legs with zesty chimichurri, and cinnamon chocolate churros. Paired with a few jugs of chilled sangria, muchas gracias!

Bonita Bonita

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Bonita Bonita is an absolute fave of team Metropolist. Not only do they make some of the best Mexican food on the Gold Coast, together with epic cocktails (hola, Tromba Blanco with verdita chaser), but their stupendously-good-value $35 per head “Easy and Fun” feed me menu is easily one of the best banquet dinner deals going. This is next-level Mexican cuisine that has us drooling over our keyboard as we type… stuff yourself with tostadas, grilled corn with cilantro crema, black bean and quinoa salad, and Bonita’s specialty tacos (go the crispy snapper with apple slaw!) to name a few. Step it up an extra 10 buck-a-roos to the “Specialties” banquet and be spoilt with ceviche, scallops with hazelnut mole and chorizo crumble, and grilled rib eye skewers. Oh, and prepare yourself for a food baby…

Hellenika’s feed me feast gives you the chance to try some of the Gold Coast’s best Greek food for $55 per head. Bringing together effortless class and casual dining, while you’re here it would be wise to try a bit of everything, right? Eating at Hellenika’s is already all about family-style dining, so eliminate the confusion by letting the chefs choose for you with a banquet of Aegean classics including saganaki, calamari, salty pork belly, baked lamb, and market fish. So… whose birthday are we celebrating next?!

Cha Cha Japanese

Everyone’s old school fave, Cha Cha Japanese know that trying to choose from their arm’s length menu can send your brain into a frizz after a hard day of being awesome. So they’ve made it easy(ier) with six different feed me banquet options designed to share between four friends at $20, $25, and $30 per head. Loaded with all the good stuff like steamed gyoza, teriyaki chicken, spring rolls, garlic butter prawns, takoyaki, and salmon sashimi salad. OK, we lied… six options? That’s still freakin’ difficult! Pair it with BYO wine and you’ve got a smokin’ good deal on a night out.

Willow Dining Room

Tucked down off the highway at Burleigh, this cute candle-lit venue is often the scene of tables spilling out across the sidewalk. With a fab Mediterranean-inspired feed me menu designed to share between four, it’s little wonder Willow Dining Room is at capacity most weekends. Choose from a $45 and $59 per head banquet including Spanish mushrooms and potato croquettes, a trio of cheesy breads, pesto-crusted salmon, zucchini flowers, and squid ceviche. Located a block from the best bars in Burleigh, Willow’s feed me menu is a winning pre-drinks choice.

Rick Shores

If you only make it to Rick Shores once this year (tisk, tisk!), make sure it’s for the mouth-watering $50 per head banquet. With a carefully-curated Asian fusion menu featuring flavoursome taste-bud busters from Vietnam, Thailand, and further afield, this Burleigh Beach favourite not only offers lust-worthy views across the table but some of the most delish dishes we’ve tucked our knife and fork into. Firstly, quality over quantity is the name of the game here, but you will not leave disappointed after the likes of soft shell crab on betel leaf, Rick’s fried (Moreton Bay) bug roll, egg net salad with pork belly and cuttlefish, and king prawn yellow curry. Etsu Izakaya

Where would we be without Etsu? Seriously though, it’s kick-arse venues like this Mermaid Beach hotspot that’ve set the waves in motion currently sweeping across the Coast’s hospitality scene. Cheers guys, we love you! If you can nab yourself a table (bookings essential), go the whole hog (we won’t judge you) by ordering one of the best banquet menus on the Gold Coast. Part with $79 and you’ll be treated to kingfish carpaccio, black miso cod, wagyu gyoza, chicken karaage, wagyu beef cooked ishiyaki-style, and buta no kakuni. Buta what? That’s pork belly, apple, and ginger…nom nom nom. For the slightly-more budget conscious, the $50 menu will leave you equally satisfied.
