Whether you’re all about Mariah or want a little bit of Erica by your side, karaoke is a pretty bloody epic excuse to sink a coupla cold ones and finally live out your dramatic rendition of my heart will go on.

We’re pretty chuffed to have so many nightlife options spanning right across the Gold Coast. We mean, who else can say their arvo swim can turn into a hillside picnic followed by a rooftop sundowner, twilight dance fest and post-drinks eats, all within a block or two? But let’s get real. Nothing beats shamelessly belting out your fave tracks with your best buds before a triple meat kebab with all the trimmings (yes, pineapple is a totally acceptable kebab topping in our books).

Notoriously leading to late nights, mainly because no one wants to leave, get amongst the best karaoke bars on the Gold Coast.

Tune Up Bar & Karaoke

Surfers Paradise

If you’ve ever ventured off the beaten path and up the unsuspecting stairs of Tune Up Bar & Karaoke, you’ll know exactly why this little hideaway has made its way onto the list for best karaoke bars on the Gold Coast. Undoubtedly the most eclectic karaoke bar on the Coast, Tune Up sees people of all walks of life take to the (sometimes sticky) stage. Buy a drink in exchange for entry, be the sound track until 3am and bang out your fave tunes surrounded by world renowned Grease experts. If there ever were a place that your air guitar battle with your bestie were truly appreciated, this is it. Choose to hang with the locals or hire your own booth but, to be honest, karaoke is way more fun with an audience to holler at.

Holey Moley

Surfers Paradise

As the new kids on the block, Holey Moley already has a pretty solid rep for their putt putt and cocktails combo, but did you know karaoke is one of their specialties too? Gather up the crew and hire one of their many private karaoke booths for a guaranteed raucous night. Host unique staff parties, weekend booze ups or just your classic ‘this way to candy’ kidnap of your besties at one of the most talked about karaoke bars on the Gold Coast. Note to self: sing Mandy Moore’s ‘Candy’. With more props than you could poke a mic at, get ready for hours of pure, Australian Idol audition-worthy entertainment.

E-Star Karaoke

Looking for a totally luxe karaoke experience with all of the trimmings? Southport’s own bin-lined alleyway is simply a sneaky way to keep this place top secret. Hidden down a dimly lit backstreet, we’re just going to go right out and say it—this is a karaoke PALACE. Individually themed private rooms are found up a series of mirrored staircases and past the occasional velvet wall. Go on, stroke it. Then sing like royalty at E-Star Karaoke. While alcohol is rumoured to only be available by the bottle and room hire starts from $39 per hour, we’re not complaining. We mean, the giant life-sized horse statue in the foyer is enough to win us over.

JPops Karaoke

A BYO karaoke joint within walking distance to the bottle shop? Um, match made in heaven much? There’s no wonder why JPops is known as one of the most glug-friendly karaoke bars on the Gold Coast. Set in the heart of Chinatown, experience an authentic Chinese karaoke bar reminiscent of a casual trip to Shanghai. You can even get your sing on in the arvo with this super accommodating karaoke bar opening from 1pm, seven days a week. Ahhh, music to our ears! If that’s not reason for a lunch break song sesh, we don’t know what is.

Surfers Paradise

Some head to Surfers for a bite to eat. Others on the hunt for a killer karaoke joint and a kebab. But we’re not great at compromising and want all of the above in the same place. Okay, they don’t have kebabs. But finding out that G-Clef offers eats and beats under one roof may just mean that your dreams have come true. You might also be pretty surprised that this underrated banger hangout has been kicking it since 1998. Obviously they’ve been doing something right, and there’s only one way to find out for yourself—by groovin’ on down and singing your best Alanis Morissette rendition, duh! Mic drop.
