Yea the boys! We love you, we really do, but maybe, (just maybe) you need a teeny-tiny bit of help when it comes to planning a group outing that doesn’t just involve sinking tinnies on the couch at Jonno’s pad (but don’t get it twisted we love that too).

So, we’ve done the fine gents of the GC a massive solid and tested out a bunch of truly epic activities, ‘cause we’re nice like that. We’ve got something for everyone below—ladies you’ll probs want to pinch a couple of these too.

Here are six great bro-date ideas to take your best boys on, right here on the Gold Coast.

Throw Some Axes

No, we’re actually serious here. If you and your crew haven’t paid a visit to Lumber Punks in Miami, then you’re seriously missing out. For $45 each you and up to 10 of your closest bros will get an hour and a half session taking you through all the basics to help perfect your skills—literally anyone can learn how to throw a good axe. Best yet, there’s a juke box for you to pick your tunes and a fridge stocked with beer. Oh wait, did we mention there’s even novelty Viking hats for you to wear? Yep, this place is one of a kind.

Sink Some Craft Beers

Look we’re not assuming just ‘cause it’s a boys outing that you’re going to want beers…ok we are, but guys or gals will love this rad date idea. We’re pretty #blessed here on the GC, the place is positively bursting with craft breweries. So why not plan an epic Saturday sesh with your boys by taking them on a brewery crawl? Start in Burleigh with Black Hops; we recommend sinking a couple of their award-winning pale ale. Then bike or Uber (depending on how much you’ve had to drink) down the road to Miami and visit the good folk at Lost Palms, then head to Currumbin hotspot Balter for an XPA and a feed from their delish and ever-changing food truck.

Practice Your Aim

Located next to Movieworld (also an epic bro date we reckon) is Topgolf, an actual dudes paradise. This place is kitted out with a rooftop bar, next-level eats and obvs, a pretty spesh golf experience. And don’t worry, although bragging right are totally up for grabs, you don’t actually have to be the next Tiger Woods to enjoy this place. If you’re unfamiliar with the gaming sensation that’s taking over the UK and US, then us blow your mind. You and your pals with grab a booth at the driving range and thanks to state of the art tech a microchip in your ball will measure your accuracy and distance and tally up your score on the board. So no cheating allowed. Sink some brews while your playing and munch on some wings and sliders.

Get Your Creative On

Booze and brilliant works of art might not sound synonymous, but if you and your bros are of the cultured variety they’ll love the opportunity to show off their artistic skills AND drink BYO wine. Head over to Brush & Barrel and try one of their unique paint and sip workshops. You’ll be guided by an instructor while slapping around paint and creating dazzling artworks. Trust us you don’t have to be a Picasso to enjoy this place, in fact, it’s a whole lot funnier if you’re not.

Become A Total Foodie

Sometimes a good meal and great company is all you need to have a truly memorable boys night. But with so many awesome places popping up all over the Coast, narrowing it down can be a little tricky. Let us help you. For a feed that will have you undoing the top button of the jeans before the final course, head to Mr Hizola’s in Burleigh. Opt for The Emperors Feast for $50 a head and let the kitchen surprise you modern Cantonese delights. Want more inspo? Also try Restaurant Labart around the corner for something slightly more fancy or even the uber-swanky Mermaid Beach eatery The North Room. #dinnerdone

Go Off The Beaten Track

Nothing says a boys’ weekend like going camping! Choose one of the Coast’s best camping spots, fill the ute full of beers and snags, load the Jimmy Barnes playlist and get going! While you’re out there why not try some of our best hikes? There’s one in there for all fitness levels. And if you dare brave the chillier weather, these epic waterfalls that you can actually swim under are nek-level. Even bros like to ‘gram occasionally right?
