Burleigh folk, you’re getting a brand new acai bar just in time for summer and we think it’s going to be pretty SAH-weet!
Kiss the Berry started up the road and has taken Brisbane by storm thanks to their acai bowls and super smoothies. They’ve nabbed an absolute primo spot in our beloved Burleigh (the old Brumby’s site), just a convenient sandy-footed walk from the beach.
If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what acai is, let’s start with the basics. It’s pronounced ah-sigh-ee—so if everyone could stop saying ak-eye that’d be great—and it’s full of antioxidants but, most important, it’s delicious and kind of resembles ice cream when it’s frozen and blended into an acai bowl.
Think you already know an acai bowl inside and out? As an acai bowl specialist, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Kiss the Berry, with a range of original, signature, and seasonal creations.
With flavours like Snickers Delight (think: acai blend plus peanut butter, raw cacao, coconut yogurt, strawberries, and handmade granola) and the Green Machine that is full of spinach, kale, activated buckinis, and all sorts of superfoods, these acai bowls sound pretty special. We’re totally intrigued with their current seasonal menu too, like the Peachy Spring Bowl or, get this, the Choc Beets Caramel Bowl with additions like avocado, raw cacao, and topped with raspberries, strawberries, handmade granola, and BEETROOT CARAMEL. That’s something we’ve never tried before. You?
There’ll also be plenty of smoothies, and you can get your caffeine fix at Kiss the Berry too.
Gosh, Burleigh residents and visitors will be spoilt for choice this summer with the recent addition of Raw Energy (transplanted from Coolangatta) and The Protein Bar across the highway, joining long-term residents Helen’s Heavenly Wholefoods Cafe and the ever-popular juice bar attached to Fishmongers. Now we have no reason to leave, ever!
Kiss the Berry is preparing for a late spring opening so, in the meantime, jump onto their Insta page and prepare to drool all over the goodness popping off your screen.
