You're Bacon Me Crazy! | 8 Of The Best Bacon And Egg Rolls On The Gold Coast

If there’s one thing that’s remained a café breakfast staple through the ages, it’s the humble bacon and egg roll.

When baked salmon, nasi goreng, kale salads, super smoothies, or pink pitaya bowls for breakfast ain’t your jam, or perhaps you just need grease after a rockin’ post-Friday hangover, nothing beats the sensational flavour combo of devouring all your brekkie ingredients wedged between a perfectly soft yet crusty set of buns.

To help you in your mission, we’ve tasted our way around town to bring you eight of the Gold Coast’s best bacon and egg rolls. Ready for your mouth to water?

Borough (Barista) and Barefoot (Barista)

Breakfast tastes better when it’s delivered with fresh sea breezes and ocean vistas, especially when prices aren’t inflated for the privilege. A sandy-footed walk across the road from magical Burleigh Beach, Borough (Barista)’s menu is small (just like its kitchen). But you’ve come for the classic bacon and egg roll made extra spesh thanks to their guacamole salsa. Or for Palm Beach locals and visitors, sister café Barefoot (Barista) will sort you out with another epic offering deserving of a spot among the best bacon and egg rolls on the Gold Coast.

Where: 14 The Esplanade, Burleigh Heads and Palm Beach Avenue, Palm Beach

The Good Wolf

The Good Wolf takeaway has long been a Miami fave for a meal on the go. This one lands fair and square on the “Bad Wolf” menu; a massive two egg and bacon roll with the added fresh crunch of tomato, baby spinach, aioli, and chilli jam.

Where: 110 Mountain Avenue, Miami

Skull and Bones Espresso Boutique

This one is for those Yankee and Canuck adoptees among us (we all know one); Skull and Bones Espresso can turn just about any bagel into an edible work of art, but the simple bacon and egg bagel combo is a winner without fail. Wash it down with one of their awe-inspiring bronut sundaes. Why not, eh?

Where: 2577 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach

Bam Bam Bakehouse

When Bam Bam Bakehouse landed on the Gold Coast breakfast scene late last year, our minds were blown. We’d be content to eat absolutely anything off the menu, so it’s no surprise their Bacon Egg ‘n’ Cheese Breakfast Roll—a semi-sweet brioche roll loaded with streaky bacon, two eggs, sharp American cheese, and house-made brown sauce—rates high among our pick of the best bacon and egg rolls on the Gold Coast.

Where: 2519—2521 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach

Paddock Bakery

Paddock Bakery’s take on the classic Aussie breakfast sanga is a mouthful, literally. Locally-smoked bacon, free-range egg, Nimbin Valley cheese (our fave), rocket, and homemade tomato chutney on a sourdough roll. They had us at homemade… and bacon… and egg… and roll. You get the picture.

Where: 20 Hibiscus Haven, Miami

Tribeca NYC

Don’t come to Tribeca NYC if you get stressed by big menus…Their brekkie options are ridic! But no worries ‘cause you’re here for the Breakfast Burger feast: fried eggs topped with American bacon (cooked to a crisp), American cheese, tomato, fried onion, and BBQ sauce. We’re stuffed just thinking about it.

Where: 58 Thomas Drive, Chevron Island

Café DBar

Our go-to when cruising around down south is super-chill Café Dbar. Their BEC (bacon, egg, cheese with tomato and spinach on a toasted panini) is the perfect breakfast fuel before slashing the legendary waves of Duranbah or Snapper—or at least admiring the mad surfing skills from afar.

Where: 275 Boundary Street, Coolangatta
