Here on the Gold Coast we’re positively brimming with talented locals, and if you need further proof of that, meet Willow Scott. At the tender age of 12 she’s making waves for her seriously rad artwork. And luckily for us she’s debuting her first ever art show tomorrow.

And where it is this happening you may ask? At uber-cool Hotel Miami of course, home to talented creatives and fast becoming our go-to spot for finding some of the most amazing art on the GC.

Willow, who has been drawing since she could hold a pencil says first ever showing is inspired by mythical creatures, goddesses and animals. Her debut exhibit will feature 18 drawings and they’re all up for grabs. Seriously, we wouldn’t mind having a Willow Scott OG on our wall.

Her pieces have been attracting the attention of GC’s cool creative scene, which is why Hotel Miami co-founder Nick Atkins decided to exhibit her work.

“I want to promote Willow's art here on the Gold Coast first and foremost because it is amazing. But also because we feel very privileged to be in a position where we can promote and foster young Gold Coast talent here at Hotel Miami,” says Atkins.

“For too long creatives growing up in this region have had very limited outlets for their art and have moved onto to bigger cities to pursue their dreams. We want to change that!”

“We’ve put on six art shows now and nearly every artist has sold out their show which to me says there's a lust for more of this in the greater community. If you’re an artist on the Gold Coast reach out to us! We love you!”

No plans this weekend? You know what to do now. We’ll see you at Hotel Miami
