If you’re a young creative living on the Gold Coast—or you have a friend who’s quite skilled with a paint brush—then you might be interested to know that our newest art gallery is now inviting emerging artists to apply for residency.
The Level Up Studio + Gallery, located in The Strand at Coolangatta, is officially open, and they’re wasting no time when it comes to supporting and educating local artists. After opening late last year, the gallery has already hosted several exhibitions and workshops, and are now opening their doors to young artists who need a space to create or showcase their work.
Emerging artists between the ages of 18 and 25 have been invited to apply for a three-month residency program in 2019, which is a youth arts incubator designed to help support and nurture young artists in the early stages of their careers. The application deadline has been extended to Sunday 10 February, so if you’re thinking about applying, there’s still time.
The gallery is also currently taking expressions of interest from emerging artists aged 16 to 35 who wish to apply for group shows at the Level Up Gallery from April to December 2019. This will provide local artists with a professional venue to exhibit their work, and provide a platform for their work to reach a wider audience. And, if you’re lucky enough to get your work on a wall in the Level Up Gallery, it’s guaranteed to reach a lot of eyes.
If you or someone you know is looking for a new creative workspace to design and showcase their work, then be sure to submit your expression of interest or residency application as soon as possible.
