If you’re anything like us, you’ve been dyyyying to know when Feast Under A Tipi would be gracing us again. Well guys, the wait is over!
Gold Coast’s favourite pop-up dinner party—by the talented team at Etsu Izakaya—took a short hiatus during the steamy summer months, but is coming back and is better than ever. How is that possible, you ask? They’ve expanded to not two, not three, but FOUR nights for their autumn soiree, yet will be scaling it back and keeping the mood super intimate with just one magical tipi (rather than two), seating max 64 people each evening.
Here’s the deal. On Thursday, April 6 through Sunday, April 9* (the weekend prior to Easter) Etsu’s whimsical tipi party will again appear at a top-secret location. Even you won’t know exactly where you’ll rendezvous, until you’re being transported from the drop off location.
Now this is the important part. Tickets to the previous two Feast Under A Tipis have literally sold out in hours, if not minutes, so you must be standing by and quick with your dialling finger when the cue is given to call (which is March 9 at noon, no earlier, ya hear!). These guys are pretty amazing at making things fair, so the notion of “first in, best dressed” will be in full force.
This season’s star ingredients are seafood** and the Japanese citrus fruit Yuzu, oh my! Guests can expect an OYSTER BAR, with chefs on hand to freshly shuck and help you choose from a variety of oysters sourced from across the country. While your five-course dego is perfectly paired with special wines and sake, once again the cash bar will be dishing up signature cocktails to fit the theme… hopefully more Japanese citrus than seafood inspired?! Screw it, it’s Etsu afterall, so we’re up for anything they create!
So, mark the date on your calendar, set a reminder, slap a sticky note on your forehead; just don’t miss securing seats at one of the Gold Coast’s favourite after-dark events.
