It only feels like yesterday we were standing inside this verdant indoor nursery with owner Lauren Lance when she decided, “let’s do it, let’s open this weekend!” We were first to share the news and, no surprise, you legends embraced this characterful potting shed with open arms. Did you know those now #instafamous peach doors were actually turquoise blue for a few days? True story!
Yes folks, it has been one whole year since The Borrowed Nursery, Gold Coast’s fave potting shed, walked into our lives. And in that time, not only has Lauren and her team passed thousands of green babies into the hands of their proud new parents, she’s hosted countless events from long luncheons, wedding ceremonies and receptions, fashion sales and markets, hen’s dos, photo shoots and intimate music soirees. Together with her burgeoning greenery loaning and event styling business (i.e. the ‘borrowed’ part) this Gold Coast born and bred girl has time and again proven her true businesswoman grit.
Which is why you should mark next weekend—Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, 9am to 4pm—in your diary and beeline to Mermaid Beach to pop some bottles and help The Borrowed Nursery celebrate its big one-year birthday. Hurrah!
Unlike typical birthdays, generously, you guys get the pressies. Saturday is the main day, with Lauren promising free Danish pastries from Bam Bam Bakehouse and free coffee vouchers from hip new neighbour, Hula Girl Espresso, for the first 100 customers who make a purchase. Out back, the laneway will be brimming with discounted bargains plus, expect the most spectacular balloon decoration dress up of an already Insta-worthy exterior and, our fave part, free plant giveaways! That’s right, a handful of lucky birthday customers will be gifted leafy presents and succulents at random when making a purchase over the weekend. So, whaddya say, see you there?!
