Ladies, it’s time to celebrate because a female-led festival is coming to Melbourne this Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December. Ctrl+F: A Femme Festivus will feature over 35 awesome femmes from all walks of life. There will be live music, DJ sets, a pop-up artist market, and an Afro-Colombian Dance Class—step aside zumba. On top of all that, there will be a projection show from Nomadic Static as the sun sets each day.
And we know you love a local beer, so you’ll be glad to hear that Ctrl+F will be welcoming Jayne from Two Birds Brewing—Australia’s first female-owned brewery. She’ll be there throughout the festival to answer all your hoppy and frothy questions.
Speaking of beer, every drink sold from 12pm to 5pm each day will see $1 going to the Melbourne-based social enterprise SisterWorks. These guys support refugee, migrant and asylum seeker women through work and entrepreneurship, so drink up folks.
It’s all happening at Section 8 and it’s completely free. And we should mention—non-femme identifiers; you’re also invited.
