We have burgers served in trams on rooftops, luxury camping on a shopping complex (breakfast hampers complimentary), but in what could be the most Melbourne move yet, James Fry has launched a caravan park hotel nestled on top of Flinders Lane.
Perched just above Harper Lane, Notel features six gentrified Airstreams shipped from America. Redesigned as luxury “hotel” rooms, each caravan is designed with soft, feminine hues handpicked by Melbourne based designer Edwards Moore.
Baby pink, warm grey and off-white makes up the bedroom of each Airstream. Melbourne-based pure organic brand Ettitude and boutique homewares from Aura feature in each cosy, gently arched interior.
Each chrome Airsteam is installed with a pink-lit full height shower (think: Barbie) and an outdoor deck area. But if you really want to splurge on this glamorous caravan stay and manage to book the one available Airstream With Benefits, you’ll enjoy a private, open-air Saphire Spa.
Lush rosy carpet and a streaky, graffiti-esque wall mural, painted by Ash Keating using paint-filled fire extinguishers (um, can we try this in our office?) completes the communal space.
Notel’s unique, luxury accommodation and prime location a stone’s throw away from some of Melbourne’s best restaurants, bars and activities commands a price, with an overnight Airstream stay starting at $395. Advanced bookings are open now.
