Back in October 2019 it was announced that the Prince Public Bar would be back in business for a massive St Kilda Summer. Now, after a slight delay, the iconic street-level bar is back in action and ready to pour some cold beers out for thirsty souls.
The whole venue has been remodelled by IF Architecture, with the entire ground floor feeling more open, and brighter than beforehand.
“St Kilda has undergone its own transformation in recent years and we’ve now brought new life to an iconic venue that’s been a proud mainstay for generations. The Prince has always been a venue that welcomes people from all walks of life, and we’re excited to see how Melbourne responds to this latest iteration.” Said Managing Director, Andrew Ryan.
Prince Public Bar’s menu features a range of classic pub counter meals including steaks, burgers, fish and chips, along with a signature roast series which offers a daily changing rotisserie, all brought together by head chef Dan Cooper—formerly of Circa, Garden State Hotel, and Aria.
“I’m excited to show Melburnians and tourists alike just how far the Prince has come, while not losing sight of its colourful and quirky past. It’s important to feel comfortable and at home in a pub, and we’ve created a menu and venue that encourages people to return two, three times a week.” Said Cooper.
The Prince Public Bar is open daily from 7am.
