Just when you thought you’d read absolutely everything you could about floating bars on the Yarra this summer, here comes another story.
This floating bar is called Supafish, it’s 38 metres long, and it will set up shop right near the bar its name is a nod to—Ponyfish Island.
Supafish is the latest collab between business partners Andrew Mackinnon and Grant Smillie (yes, that Grant Smillie). The bar will transport visitors to a futuristic world, with a neo-Tokyo inspired fit out which is paired with recycled martials, galvanized steel, and shades of white and black. Supafish looks to be some serious Instagram fodder come summer.
The menu features an all-day Mexican grazing menu and has been created by the team behind Hotel Jesus and Mamasita, feast on items like the Huitlacoche Quesadilla, Totopos Corn Chips with Salsa, and, of course, Ceviche.
The bar menu covers all bases with Margaritas and Espresso Martinis available all day long, or if you’re trying to keep that summer rig in check, try the Supafish Kombucha Cocktail.
Supafish will arrive in early December and will be open from 11am – 1am daily until late February 2018.
It’s also worth noting that Supafish will be a cashless bar, so don’t bother hitting up the ATM prior to your visit.
