Cicchetti | Not dined at this Isle of Capri gem yet? Cicchetti regulars will tell you you’re missing out. Best night to visit if the bank balance is dismal? On Mondays (and now through to Thursday) when a selection of small drool-worthy pizzas sell for $10 each across lunch, dinner, and takeaway.
Après Surf | By now you should know there’s no shortage of killer week-day deals at Mermaid’s Après Surf. Our pick? Cheeseburgers are a steal on Mondays, at just five bucks each. Cruise in for some of the best cheap eats on the Gold Coast.
Bine Craft Beer Bar | Frequented by team Metropolist are Monday nights at Bine. Starting with 50-cent wing o’clock between 4—6pm (also an erryday thang) and ending with their Monday spesh: $5 Sliders. Yes, please!
House of Brews | All the saucy chicken #whangs fly out of the kitchen for one buck-a-roo each on Mondays at Surfers Paradise craft beer bar, House of Brews (5pm to close).
MexiCali | We freakin’ love this joint, not going to lie! Taco Tuesdays see all their delish tacos knocked down to $5 each. Can’t make it Tuesday? Their three-hour Sunday session (read: mad drink specials) is another Metropolist fave.
California Tacos | Hailing from just north of the Mexican border, these guys know what’s up when it comes to making tacos. Taco Tuesday is the day to visit if you’re on a skint budget, when all tacos sell for five bucks.
Little Mermaid | Jumping on the mad Mexican bandwagon on a Tuesday, Little Mermaid’s tacos: BBQ pulled pork, grilled fish with coriander salsa, and chipotle chicken—take your pick of any three for a tenner.
BiN 12 | While we never need another excuse for wine time, $6 gourmet tacos at Burleigh’s BiN 12 mean more coin for #allthevino.
Sparrow Eating House | Easily one of the best dining deals on the Gold Coast, eat out in style while keeping some coin in your pocket with Sparrow’s famous four share plates for $50.
Zullaz Bar and Eating Place | After cafés along this bustling James Street arcade close their doors, sultry Zullaz takes over as the sun dips. On Wednesday evenings they’re luring you in with $10 roti wrap plates (think: pumpkin, butter chicken, and lamb curry rotis) washed down with $5 select wine and beers. Bait taken.
Cambus Wallace | Drinking on a school night can be dangerous, especially when your food is soaked in it too… Cambus Wallace’s Whisky Wednesdays feature epic whisky-glazed ribs or sirloin for a tidy $15, served with a side of live tunes.
Tribeca NYC | So popular you’ll need to plan weeks in advance to nab a table, at Tribeca NYC’s infamous BBQ ribs night get a stacked plate with a rack of BBQ pork ribs, chips, and homemade slaw for $22. Not cheap as chips, but almost half price making it one of the best cheap eats on the Gold Coast in our eyes.
Tupe Aloha | Sunshine and pineapples radiate out of this Kirra gem, so if you need another excuse, we reckon two-for-one burritos on Wednesdays is a damn fine one.
Longboards Laidback Eatery | On Local’s Thursdays, Longboards knocks down prices on a range of burgers (and cocktails!) to just $12 each; live music from 5:30pm.
Bine Craft Beer Bar | Bringing the weekend feels early, one of our fave Bine deals is Thursday night parmy and tasting paddle of craft brews for only $15. Snap!
Bon Bon Bar | At everyone’s fave Mexican joint you can squeeze Taco Tuesday and THURSDAY into one week, with Bonita’s epic south-of-the-border classic tacos selling for just five bucks each at neighbouring Bon Bon Bar. We’ll never go home without devouring the crispy fish taco. Drool.
Aloha Bar and Dining | We still can’t get over the epic eats these guys can pump out of their tiny kitchen. Every Thursday night is Bao Night at tiki-themed Aloha Bar where $12 gets you two baos and a beer. Save your pennies for a pineapple cocktail chaser.
BALL BOY Meatballs | Throw the working week the middle finger and kick back with a cool crew at BALL BOY Meatballs’ new happy hour. Snag yourself $3 sliders plus $5 beers and house vino between 5—6pm.
Burgster | Did someone say $1 oysters? Hola! You don’t need to ask us twice! Burgster sell the salty slimy suckers for just a buck a pop between 3—6pm (or until sold out) and only on Fridays. ‘Cause you know what they say about oysters…
Après Surf | Serving up some of the best cheap eats on the Gold Coast, another Metropolist fave is Après Surf Sunday session $10 parmy and fries special, throw down another $5 for a VB schooner. Kickin’ it old school.
Eddie’s Grub House | Okay, let’s be real, this isn’t exactly a weekend special, we just want a reason to plug these guys. We love them, pain and simple. Knocking out some of the best burgers on the Gold Coast, Eddie’s seriously-good classic cheese burger and fries sell every day for $11.50. Don’t forget to tell them we sent you.
