6 Games Worth Your Sweet Time This Month

By Victoria Cotman - 22 Nov 2018

There are big titles sparking all the excitement in the gaming world at the moment which means we have a sling of hot mobile and console antics you need to get around stat. Nintendo is bringing you Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, Spyro is back on PS4, and while we’re all nostalgic and stuff, why not pick up your mobile phone and become Sonic the Hedgehog again?

Here are all the games worth a play this month.

Nintendo Switch

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

Gotta catch ‘em all? You bet your sweet A you do. But who will you choose to be your buddy on the adventure, Pikachu or Eevee? If you remember the originals, the new Pokémon: Let’s Go games will feel mighty familiar but about a bajillion times better because of the massive graphics upgrade, not to mention the ability to trade or game together. Choose to play in hand-held mode, with a single Joy-Con OR an actual Pokéball (we die) and do what we all came here to do: become a Pokémon master *turns hat backwards*. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are available now for Nintendo Switch.

PlayStation 4

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Sticking with the theme of impossibly cute nostalgia game upgrades, Spyro is back, and he’s all fired up. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an HD reboot of the original three games, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, so you can revisit all your old adventures, or (if you weren’t around for the 90s OGs) become the plucky purple dragon for the first time. Get your wings on and save your fellow dragons from their crystal prisons, like the magnificent mythical creature you are. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is out now on PlayStation4.

Spider-Man: Turf Wars DLC

Haven’t had enough of web-swinging yet? We get you, and so does Sony because they have delivered yet another DLC (downloadable content), and this time it’s Turf Wars. Put on your favourite Spidey suit and get ready to battle scar-faced villain Hammerhead plus take on new challenges, win new trophies and claim new suits (Iron Spider alert). Spider-Man:Turf Wars is available for download now on PS4.

Mobile

SEGA Heroes

Kick it old school with Sonic the Hedgehog and other beloved SEGA characters in this RPG brawler made just for your mobile device. Solve puzzles and gather an epic all-star cross-over team to battle the evil Dremagen and her army as she tries to take over the universe. SEGA Heroes is available for iOS and Android now.

SHINE - Journey of Light

Need to unwind? You’ve come to the right place. SHINE - Journey of Light is a relaxing side-scroller, exquisitely animated to give you a peaceful gaming experience. You play a little glowing orb of light called a “moonie”, searching for other “moonies” through wilderness, caves, and caverns, so you may restore light to the night sky. The atmospheric game features an interactive soundtrack by composer Christian Maier. SHINE - Journey of Light is out now for iOS and Android.

See/Saw

See/Saw comes with the tagline, “die with care” and that pretty much sums it up. Get your little dude-character-thing to collect all the coins by seesaw-ing your phone or tablet side to side, allowing physics to get you where you need to go. Sounds easy enough? Sure, except there are buzz-saws everywhere, that will either chop you to pieces, or, ironically, get you where you need to go. It sounds brutal, but we swear it’s super cute looking. See/Saw is available on iOS and Android.
