A large grassed area along Melbourne's riverbank.

It's nice to be talking about events again in Melbourne.

Crown Melbourne has announced their new outdoor dining precinct which will take over Crown Riverwalk from Monday 2 November.

Pétanque Social is a European beach club-inspired outdoor bar that has been created in response to the Victorian government's outdoor dining permit system.

At Péteanque Social you'll find a space filled with day beds, lounge chairs, Fontelina Beach Club-inspired striped pastel blue umbrellas, along with a full-service bar, and summer dishes served up by Crown's excellent line-up of restaurants.

“We have a wonderful location right here on the Yarra, with some of Melbourne’s best restaurants. Melbourne has always been the most European of Australia’s cities—so launching a south of France style bar on the river makes complete sense. We know Melburnians have had a hard year—and we’re looking forward to being part of a COVID-safe summer for the city,” said Crown Melbourne's Executive General Manager of Food & Beverage, Enda Cunningham.

Crown Melbourne's restaurants Bistro Guillaume, Rosetta, The Atlantic, Ging Thai, Merrywell Burger Bar, Gradi, Lucky Chan, Baci and Cervo will be amongst the first to open their doors, with Rockpool Bar & Grill to follow shortly after.
