Cocktails + Chocolate – Here’s Where We’ll Be Spending Easter Saturday

Pick up your phone and cancel your family plans because we’ve just found an event that is streets better than getting mad at your mum because she hid your Easter eggs on the roof again even though Jane Bunn specifically said there were two days of forecasted hail.

The Easter Cup Races will take place on Easter Saturday, April 15, at Caulfield Racecourse and promises to be both a celebration of Autumn Racing and an extravaganza of fun (i.e. you can wet your whistle with several tall cocktails and then dry it off with six dozen Easter eggs).

The day will not only play host to chocolate and alcohol, but will also feature rapid weight gain and liver deterioration two Group Three races; the Victorian Handicap and the Easter Cup, each worth a tidy $150,000 and they come with the promise of many horses (clarification: ten per race, please don’t sue).

In addition to many odd-toed ungulate mammals, the day will include live acoustic music, delicious food, the ever-popular and crowd-drawing Pimm’s Garden Party (which alone is reason enough to go), and Melbourne Racing Club’s Best Ever Easter Hunt presented by Cadbury.

“Say it again for the people in the back!”

THE EASTER EGG HUNT IS PRESENTED BY CADBURY, which means those crummy little no-brand chocolate eggs can trot the hell off into the hell hole they came out of. Plus all proceeds from the hunt will go to charity so good luck sleeping at night if you don’t go.

While going home for Easter triggers PTSD from the Easter egg hunt of ’04 is nice, the Easter Cup Races are the perfect Easter escape that’ll keep but you entertained/tipsy/full for hours.
