Melbourne’s Most Instagrammable Beauty Mecca Has Just Landed

By Sophie Colvin
23rd Jun 2016

When one of the worlds most magical artists heads to Melbourne to create a permanent installation using 150,000 preserved flowers, you know you need to get snapping.

Rebecca Louise Law is helping Eastland celebrate the launch of its beauty garden with, well, a literal garden. Suspended from the roof, Law has used an array of Australian flowers to create a stunning flower canopy that hangs over Eastland’s dedicated beauty precinct.

Completely changing the way us beauty babes experience shopping for products, Eastland has broken down the walls to create a far more welcoming experience. Instead of closed-in shop fronts, you’ll find an open space of beauty brands, keen as mustard to have a chat and help you find the perfect eye cream.

Eastland in no stranger to big name beauty brands— it’s already home to Mecca Cosmetica, Mecca Maxima, Victoria Secret, Napoleon Perdis and MAC Cosmetics—but the Beauty Garden really steps things up a notch and Rebecca Law’s flower canopy literally turns it in to a garden of delights.

Here are our top five beauty picks from under the canopy

1. Kiehls

New York cool-kid brand, Kiehls carries series skincare clout. With lotions and potions for all skin types and staff that offer bang-on advice, you’re in safe hands at Kiehls.

2. iKOU

iKOU was created based on the idea of rest, relax and restore. Drawing inspiration from Bali’s luxe spa culture and ultra zen vibes, we think those three ‘Rs’ are just what we need

3. Inglot

Ever had trouble finding that lipstick colour that is just right? Yeah, us too. Thankfully such painful missions are to be no more. Inglot stocks over 1500 lipstick, eyeshadow and nail polish colours…. Take all our money!

4. Goddess Of Nails.

If you’re anything like us, you’re in a very close friendship with your manicurist. It’s sacred. Pick-me-ups can be as small as a perfect manicure and maaaaaan does Goddess Of Nails know how to do one of those.

5. Crabtree And Evelyn

We’re traditionalists at heart, so find ourselves popping in to Crabtree and Evelyn time and time again. There’s something so comforting about the floral scents and English garden presentation.

We’ve barely scratched the surface with these five, there’s so many top-notch beauty brands that we’re completely smitten with, including Endota Spa, Pressed Juices, Beauty EDU and Jacqueline Evans Skincare. For the full beautymeets garden, meets artwork, meets epic insta opportunity, Eastland is where you need to head.
