We're thrilled to partner with MINI to bring you our Fave 5 series—our fortnightly guide to the best of the best in Melbourne. From food to fashion, Campari to Crossfit, each Fave 5 edition is researched and recommended by The Urban List, and driven by the new MINI 5-Door Hatch—putting the city at your fingertips and giving you the freedom to explore it!

Just when you thought we were done for the year, Melbourne's foodie scene has had a new burst of exciting openings.  Some are second openings of existing favourites, and others are brand spankin' newies. Either way, you'll want to work your way through these during those long summer nights...

127 Brunswick

Fitzroy

With five different venues under one roof, 127 Brunswick Street is a fantastic new venue that's all about the good times - no matter when you arrive. The petite street-side Coffee Stop window and Ichi Ni Nana street food hatch serve up caffeine hits and delicious lunchtime snacks from 7am, with the Village People Hawker Food Hall serving street food in an absolutely stunning above street-level dining hall from midday onwards. If you're in for a Japanese feast, book a table at Ichi Ni Nana's Izakaya, where you'll find some of the best sushi in the city. Ready for some rooftop cocktail action? The Upside Rooftop Bar has you covered until late. If there's one Melbourne venue you'll never have to leave, this is it.

Biggie Smalls

Collingwood

The team behind Melbourne favourite, Maha, have worked their magic again to bring you something completely different, but still all kinds of finger lickin’ good. The brain child of chef extraordinaire Shane Delia, Biggie Smalls is has been a inspired by classic New York dinner style joints and is dishing up easy, quality takeaway food that hits the spot for  Melbourne’s time-poor inner suburbs crowd. If Kebabs are your kinda thing, Biggie Smalls neeeeeds to be at the top of your list to hit up.

Yukie's Snack Bar

Windsor

The good folk at Mr Miyagi have answered the cries for even more epic Japanses fusion dishes with the trademark Mr Miyagi stamp on them. They didn't just answer the call, they stepped right on up and have created Yukie's Snack Bar in the neighbouring space to Mr Miyagi on Chapel Street. Punters can expect the a beautifully curted menu of snack dishes that are desinged to share - think kingfish ceviche and applewood hot smoked salmon tostadillas. And to wsh it all down? Cocktails from an epic list of flavours and our favourite poisons.

8Bit

Melbourne CBD

When we heard that 8Bit was opening a second home in the city, we were more than a touch excited. Originally making a name for itself in Footscray, 8Bit are the kings of creative burgers and all things comfort food. Sitting on a bustling corner in the CBD, you’ll find the regular offering of shakes, burgers and fries. We challenge you to walk past with an empty stomach and not duck inside. The best bit? It's arcade themed!

Sth Central

South Yarra

The newest addition to the South Yarra hood is Sth Central; Taking a foothold at the bottom of a brand new apartment building, conveniently located a mere few steps from South Yarra station. And when you slide into a booth and start taking in an Aperol Spritz or ten, you'll know why that's the best news you've heard all week... From scallops with tomato ketchup, jamon and chilli - juicy and served in shell - along with tender venison laid over smokey eggplant and crunchy greens, this is the place for classics with a twist.
