It wasn’t too long ago we were talking about the new Hanoi Hannah New Quarter opening up on Swan Street in Richmond, but now we turn our attention to Hanoi Hannah Elsternwick.
After a couple of years at the site adjacent to the railway line, the time has come for Hanoi Hannah Vol.II, which has taken over the site formerly known as Maxy’s International on Glenhuntly Road.
Hanoi Hannah Vol. II is now open for business and will provide plenty more space than was previously available. The new venue has room for 100 diners, with an alfresco area, open kitchen, and a late liquor license which will hero rum-based cocktails well into the night.
The menu won’t alter too much from what you’d already get at Hanoi Hannah Elsternwick, but the addition of Hot Pockets is sure to raise a few eyebrows. Large sharing dishes take centre stage like their southern-style braised beef with daikon and annatto, or the lemongrass dry-aged roast duck served with crunchy egg noodles.
The hot pockets feature Banh Teui—a pita-style bread—which will be packed with amazing flavours like pulled pork braised in lemongrass, chilli, and beef stock.
