The Corner Hotel has been an institution of live music and elbow bending in Richmond since the 1940's. Remodeled and developed in 1995, this Melbourne pub has hosted some of the biggest music acts to hit our shores, and every Melburnian has probably graced the hallowed carpet at some point in their backlog of mad as hell nights out.
The well-known rooftop has been closed for quite a while, but to celebrate its 20th anniversary under current ownership, it's undergone a massive reno and we could not be more excited.
You'll find a new indoor dining area, the classic outdoor courtyard, and private function spaces, plus a new menu by head chef Shannon Rice which focusses on share dishes—think whole smoked pork hock with apple and caraway slaw, pickles, mayo, and mini milk buns; and whole roasted eggplant with quark, lemon herb toasted almonds, housemade flatbread and pomegranate molasses. Yum!
The new rooftop will open up on Friday 11 November and there will be DJs, an outdoor BBQ and drink specials to mark the occasion.
If you want to catch up with The Corner's 20th-anniversary celebrations you can check those out on 20 November where they'll be hosting another free public event.
