Melbourne's newest summer festival, Shimmerlands has just released their film lineup for the summer.

The programme has been carefully curated by Lauren Valmadre, who earned her stripes with the Human Arts and Rights Film Festival, and the Melbourne International Film Festival. Highly anticipated new releases and new-age classics will feature over two months on the sprawling grounds of Parkville at the University of Melbourne.

The Australian premiere of ‘The Rolling Stones Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across America’, Nick Cave’s documentary ‘One More Time With Feeling’, and smash indie hit ‘American Honey’ are all on the list, as well as blockbusters like ‘Ab Fab: The Movie’, ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Arrival’, and ‘Dr Strange’.

Damien Chazelle’s ‘La La Land’, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, will also feature as one of the most exciting films of the year (and a hot contender for the Oscars). Other new releases include Tom Ford’s ‘Nocturnal Animals’, and John Michael McDonagh’s hilarious ‘War On Everything’.

With over 45 films over January and February, Shimmerlands is looking like it will be one of the best additions to summer we’ve seen in a long time.

You can check out the full line up here, as well as buy tickets and find out more about the festivities.
