Hestonphiles, have we got some exciting and, err, expensive news for you! Set your buzzers and arm all the alarms in your house as, come October 8th, The Fat Duck Melbourne ballot will open. For those living under a rock, Heston Blumenthal will be bringing his famed The Fat Duck restaurant to our very own Yarra banks next February, adding another starry jewel to Crown's culinary offering. The Fat Duck Melbourne will be Heston's first international restaurant, running for six months before it transforms into another spectacular dining space, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
But, being a Blumenthal restaurant, you can't just mosey on up to The Fat Duck, or even book six months in advance. No siree. Due to an inbox crushing amount of interest from cashed up Melbourne foodies (and, let's face it, probably a few blow ins from up North), you'll have to secure your spot at the 45 seater via a ballot, running from 9am Wednesday 8th October to 11:59pm Sunday 26th October (AEST).
And, if you're a lucky winner, what awaits you? A four-hour, 14 course dining experience, from $525 per head (booze not included).
