5 Awesome Things to do in Melbourne This Week

After such a wild and woolly weekend, you'd be forgiven for wanting to stay indoors. Well, almost. This week in Melbourne is jam-packed with fun things to do, see and, of course, eat. So get amongst it, Listers! Here are five of the best things to do in Melbourne this coming seven days.

Monday 13

Ok, so Melbourne Coastrek isn’t until November, but it’s one you’re going to want early bird tickets for, which are available now. You can choose between a 30km and a 55km trek where you’ll discover the rugged coastline, spectacular bays and secret bush trails of the Mornington Peninsula, in teams of four. Raising moolah for the Fred Hollows Foundation, while being all outdoorsy and getting some exercise. Tick, tick and tick!

Tuesday 14

It’s every Francophile’s day of worship—Bastille Day. There is an abundance of ways to celebrate, from French themed burgers to fine dining and lots of cheese and wine in between. Browse our top Bastille Day picks and lock it in Eddie.

Thursday 16

You’d be crazy to miss this one. Acclaimed puppet comedy duo Sammy J and Randy first stole our hearts when they won the Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The pair were performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year when Neil Patrick Harris spotted them and invited them to join him for four televised galas at this year’s Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

Aaaannnny way, the point is that Sammy J and Randy need to practice before hitting up such a big gig, so you’re all invited to Howler this Thursday to laugh until your tummy hurts. Get in quick for tickets.

Friday 17

Melbourne’s favourite craft market is returning for three days, starting on Friday. The Finders Keepers is being held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton and is choc-a-block full of interesting things made by Aussie makers. Think really lovely ceramics, art, linens, jewellery…. And so so many more things. If it’s vaguely crafty, you can be pretty sure to find it at The Finders Keepers.

Sunday 19

With all the trappings of a high tea—decadent delights, bubbles, boutique teas and plenty of sweet and savoury treats, Bursaria have really amped it up, adding DJs and roving entertainment to this high tea with a twist, to be held in the Rosina Function Space. Yes please!
