8 (More) Gold Coast Online Retailers Who Are Killing It

By Dani Byrnes - 17 Dec 2016

It goes without saying; shopping centres in December are a total no-go zone if you want to keep your patience unscathed, as well as your sanity.

Luckily, we’ve found a better alternative. We’ve compiled another list of Gold Coast online retailers who are killing it, which will have you totally crushing your Christmas shopping this festive season while also avoiding those dreaded long lines, 90’s carols, and parking-lot battles.

Au Fait Living | Homewares

After just five seconds on the Au Fait Living e-store, you’ll be pinning every pic to Pinterest, followed by immediately stacking every piece of furniture you own into the car, with a one-way ticket to the Salvos. This reasonably priced luxe-lifestyle e-store (and The Village Markets regular) is a blend of beach chic meets country cottage, famous for their trademark rattan furniture. Rattan? You know, the long stems found on palm trees which are then weaved to create those super-tropical wicker chairs? Whatever they are made from, they look great and would look even better in our living room. Au Fait Living whip up only a few pieces of each style, of which are generally snapped up pretty quick. Their signature Peacock Bedheads are one of their hottest pieces, and the best way to stay informed of when new products hit the store is to follow their Insta.

Sporte The Label | Activewear

Thank you Kylie and Kendall for making activewear socially acceptable to wear outside the gym. From Pilates to brunch, gym to work, it’s finally okay to wear uber comfortable activewear all day erryday, without judgement—especially when it’s Australia’s newest luxury athleisure brand, Sporte The Label. Designed for lovers of minimalistic, chic and practical activewear, Simone and Emma—the babes behind the label— have designed a range of on-trend luxe activewear including, wait for it: NON-see-through black tights. Hurrah! With hues of khaki, blush, navy and gold, it doesn’t just stop at activewear; boxing gloves, gym bags, and yoga mats are among the range of essential accessories. Follow Sporte The Label on Insta to keep up to date on their pop-up shop announcements that happen every few months at the Pilates Pad.

Moana Bikini | Swimwear

Launching in 2011, Moana Bikini leveraged off the Instagram craze and is now one of the biggest bikini labels on the interwebs. Oh-so-close to hitting a whopping 500K followers on Instagram, this is one the biggest online stores on our local list. Curator, and Gold Coast babe, Karina Irby saw a gap in the market for seamless, cheeky-cut, good quality ‘kinis, and voila, Moana Bikini was born. But these ain’t no ordinary ‘kinis, they are all reversible, which simply means you’re getting two bikinis for the price of one. So, you’re basically making money when you buy a pair. Sort of. Even though many of their product shoots take place in some dreamy la la land better known as Hawaii, Moana Bikini is still through ‘n’ through Gold Coast owned and operated. With Chrissy coming up, a stocking filler idea would be one of Moana’s lavish Sea Blankets: a massive beach towel covered in all your delicious summer prints.

Good Time Trader | Lifestyle and Clothing

Not afraid of a little competition, and one of the many reasons we love Good Time Trader, is that as well as stocking their own label, Good Time Trunk Co., they support fellow fashion designers and local creatives by stocking other brands and pieces right alongside their very own. With a boutique based in West Burleigh, this treasure trove is also totally crushing it on the online retail world. With every category covered, from his to hers, activewear to headwear, tots to towels, you’d effortlessly get all your Chrissy shopping done in one checkout. The best bit about shopping local? Most things are handmade (with love obvs) and there is often only a small amount made, so you’ll be sure to score yourself a rare gem.

Pink Punk | Activewear

If you own a pair of Pink Punk threads already, we are equally as obsessed. With the brightest, hippest, most bangin’ designs you ever did see, we can tell you, this ain’t no average activewear. And, they are totally killing it online, too. It’s no mean feat trying to look super babin’ while drowning in your own sweat, but Pink Punk have managed to nail it, designing seriously boss activewear that not only looks good but is practical for pretty much any activity (including latte sippin’). Tarah Frow, the dancer, fitness guru, and brains behind Pink Punk began hand making her own tights a few years ago and it wasn’t too long before friends began putting their orders in. These days, all garments are handmade locally by Tarah’s team, and as if she isn’t busy enough running her empire, Tarah still cuts and sews when demand is through the roof. Not forgetting about the Mini Punks, they even have a range of kids togs and activewear. You can find Pink Punk Active online and also at, Good Time Trader in West Burleigh.

Bones Society | Dog Accessories

Life’s sweeter when your best mate’s a dog, and this is the motto that Bones Society owners Renae and Kylie, live by. With a loyal Insta following of almost 20K, Bones Society is one of the Coast’s biggest online stores, entirely dedicated to super cute accessories for our canine pals. Sure, you’ll find the regular poochy-widgets like leashes and collars, but to really get Buddy droolin’, you need to get your paws on their trademark Bones Raglan Tee and Kick Arse bandanas. Much more than an online store, Bones Society’s goal is to increase awareness and funds for our friends at the Animal Welfare League Of QLD, with 10 per cent of every sale donated directly to the organisation.

Duke of London | Kidswear

A store entirely devoted to the sun-lovin’, ice block-lickin’, free-spirited youth of the GC, Duke Of London is one of the raddest kids online stores in the world. Born right here on the Gold Coast just four short years ago, these threads have been worn by a few celebrity offspring with the Kardashians, Stefanis and Hemworths to drop a few names. Although designed for boys, owner Kiri Moana-Proctor claims her designs can be worn by all. Duke Of London’s latest range is one for the flower children; oozing with bohemian flair and aptly named “Kids Of Coachella”. With 50 stockists in over five countries, this homegrown brand is going gangbusters around the globe and their online store is growing by the day. For cuteness overload, check out their shop here.

Bella Bronze Tans | Beauty

What’s the secret to Coasters staying sugar-brown all year long, you ask? Bella Bronze Tans. This bustling salon centrally located in Mermaid Beach has been tanning GC babes for over a decade and the salon has gone big guns (pun definitely intended), particularly in the past few years. Owner Jasmine Scarr saw a gap in the market for (finally) a pleasant smelling, long-lasting tan that wouldn’t turn you orange. So, she created her own. After 12 months of solid research, the winning formula was designed and the first five Bella Bronze products hit the market last year. But demand doesn’t just stop on the Gold Coast, this gear is literally flying off the virtual shelves, with thousands of bottles being propelled all around the globe. The top-secret solution is vegan, Paraben free, and was even voted as fan favourite in the Cosmopolitan Fake Tan Awards this year. Tick, tick, and well deserved. Thanks to its online success, beauty distributors across Australia and the USA are pulling each other’s hair vying to add the luxe range of Bella Bronze Tans to their portfolio.
